As I have previously noted, Democrats are fond of telling us that elections have consequences.  Remember 2009, when Congressional Republicans tried to have their voices heard by the Obama Administration?  Il Duce Obama told them, “elections have consequences.”  That’s a principle that Democrats embrace, but only after they win.  You see, when Democrats lose an election, as they did in 2016 and 2024, the principle doesn’t apply.  When they lose, Democrats have no regard for public opinion.  They have no regard for the democracy they keep saying is being threatened.  They have to protect their phony baloney jobs.

On these pages, in November and again a few weeks ago, I pointed out that the Democrats’ latest strategy of repeatedly shutting down the government is simply a ploy to undo the November election.  That’s what it’s all about.  The Democrats lost, but now they want a Do Over.  The fact that their Party was soundly defeated, and their policies rejected doesn’t matter.

Last November, Americans went to the polls and overwhelming approved Trump’s plans to secure the border and deport illegal aliens.  The Constitution provides that the federal government is responsible for the enforcement of immigration laws.  Article VI makes the Constitution and laws of the federal government “the supreme law of the land; and the judges in every State shall be bound thereby.”  This means that sanctuary State and City laws designed to prevent ICE from enforcing immigration laws are null and void.

Yet in Minnesota, Oregon, California, and elsewhere, State and local officials have countenanced, and even supported acts of violence aimed at preventing the federal laws pertaining to immigration from being enforced.  And now, for the second time in a few months, Democrats have shut down the government over immigration enforcement.  A large majority of Americans support enforcing the law, but Democrats say you can’t have what you voted for.  They want to undo the 2024 election.

Democrats have issued a set of 10 demands, which they call “reforms” of ICE, but which in reality are a  blatant attempt to undo the election, flaunt the will of the people, and change immigration statutes, and decisions of the U.S. Supreme Court, that go back more than 130 years.  They can’t get these things the proper way, through Legislative action, so they have resulted to extortion.  They say they won’t vote to fund Homeland Security unless their demands are met.  That means TSA, Secret Service, the Coast Guard, FEMA, and other agencies get no funding, and no paychecks.  Why are they doing this?  I explained last week.  They need millions of illegal aliens to stay in power.

Here are their demands: 1) No arrests on private property without a judicial warrant; 2) No masks or face coverings; 3) Display ID with name and badge number; 4) No enforcement near sensitive locations, including medical facilities, schools, childcare facilities, churches, polling places, courts, etc.;      5) No stops, questioning or searches based on an individual’s presence at certain locations, their job, their spoken language and accent, or their race or ethnicity; 6) Place into law a reasonable use-of-force policy; 7) Let State and local jurisdictions prosecute potential crimes and use-of-excessive-force incidents.  Require the consent of states and localities to conduct large-scale operations outside of targeted immigration enforcement; 8) Allow states to sue the DHS for detention violations.  Prohibit limitations on member visits to ICE facilities; 9) Require use of body-worn cameras; 10) No paramilitary police. Regulate and standardize the type of uniforms and equipment DHS officers employ.

I’ll give them the cameras, because that’s a tool that 99 times out of 100 protects the officers from false complaints.  The rest of the demands are a desperate attempt to force ridiculous changes to immigration enforcement laws.  Many of the demands are foolish, outright illegal, and an unconstitutional invasion on the authority of the federal government.

The demands overlook an important distinction, which is that illegal aliens do not enjoy all the protections afforded to citizens and lawful residents.  Heritage Foundation Senior Legal Fellow, Hans von Spakovsky, has written a treatise on this subject.

The demand for judicial warrants contradicts an 1893 Supreme Court decision.  Deportation proceedings are civil, not criminal.  The Court decided that an alien being removed by the government is not being “deprived of life, liberty, or property” and that “the provisions of the Constitution securing the right to trial by jury and prohibiting unreasonable searches and seizures and cruel and unusual punishments therefore have no application.

The due process rights in civil immigration proceedings are far more limited than those afforded to citizens.  Immigration courts are not judicial, they’re administrative, run by the Justice Department.  By federal regulation, no federal court has the authority to overrule the decision of the executive branch to exclude an alien.  In 1953, the Supreme Court held, “courts have long recognized the power to expel or exclude aliens as a fundamental sovereign attribute exercised by the Government’s political departments largely immune from judicial control.”

Under the Immigration and Nationality Act, if an inadmissible alien attempts to enter or makes it into the country illegally but is found and detained within two years, that alien can be removed without a hearing or any other proceeding.  “Inadmissible” means, one present in the United States without being admitted or paroled, or who arrives in the United States at any time or place other than as designated by the Attorney General.  For instance, the untold millions let in by Biden.

There’s also an expedited removal proceeding for aliens convicted of one of a specified list of criminal offenses, ranging from misdemeanor shoplifting and theft all the way to felony firearms, drug offenses, domestic violence, stalking, and child abuse as well as terrorism and espionage.  This was what was going on in Minnesota.

Even if the alien has been in country more than two years, due process is limited to an immigration court hearing and appeal.  No District Court judge has jurisdiction to intrude on this process.  The Supreme Court should make this clear to the District Court judges who think they’re running the entire Executive Branch.

Simply put, the Democrat demands are insulting and blatantly illegal.  No enforcement near polling places?  Why, unless Democrats seek to protect the right of aliens to vote?  No masks and name IDs?  They wouldn’t need masks if they and their families weren’t being threatened by violent protestors.  The identity of every agent participating in an ICE operation is a matter of record in official reports.  Anyone with a right to see the reports can tell who was there.  Rioters on the street have no good reason to know.

Demand 5 is illegal and demand 7 is unconstitutional.  Law enforcement is permitted to speak to anyone on the street.  States and localities have illegally barred ICE from public property.  Our new Governor Sherrill issued such an Order last week.  Also restricting private and public places where ICE may not conduct operations is a blatant attempt to end all ICE removal operations.

As for number 7, Democrats should read Article VI of the Constitution.  Federal law is supreme.  Requiring ICE to get approval from States and localities to conduct operations violates Article VI and invalidates federal laws on the books for generations.  The same goes for the attempt to dictate what uniform and equipment ICE may wear and use.  ICE wouldn’t need paramilitary gear if they weren’t under attack by violent morons.

Republicans will not and cannot agree to the Democrat demands.  Democrats will hold out as long as possible to inflict maximum pain on the American people, hoping you will blame Republicans in November.  Don’t take the bait.  Democrats say we need to rein in ICE, and get it back in line.  When you’re standing in line for hours at an airport, or when you or your family are forced to live without a paycheck, remember whose stupid idea this was.

Democrats are fond of telling us they’re looking for “the root cause” of every problem.  For instance, remember when Biden made Kamala the Border Czar?  She then supposedly set off to discover “the root cause” of the ongoing illegal alien invasion.  Kamala dismissed the most obvious reasons, like – Biden erased the borders, invited the invaders to come in, and then welcomed them with new clothes, telephones, welfare, free housing and medical care.  Instead, Kamala decided the root cause was dissatisfaction with conditions in their home countries, which then supposedly entitled them to feed off of Uncle Sucker.  That was simply misdirection.

The true root cause was much simpler.  Democrats require millions of illegal aliens to stay in power.  They have a problem, you see.  The picture you’re presented with by the media – of a nation evenly divided between evil, fascist, right-wing religious fanatics, and benevolent, progressive, socialists, who exist only to ensure the betterment of all mankind – is false.

Try as Democrats might to obscure the truth, American citizens, as a whole, are, and always have been, moderately conservative.  Until recently, even the leaders of the Democrat Party understood this.  After the 1968 election, Richard Scammon and Ben Wattenberg published The Real Majority, which examined the demographics of the American electorate.

They concluded that, although there were extremes, on both the Left and the Right, the vast majority of voters, and thus the voters who swung elections, were in the middle.  They described the average voter as a 46 year old woman from Ohio.  The moral was that the Parties shouldn’t expend energy courting niche voters at the extremes of the spectrum, but rather concentrate on the middle.

That strategy worked, for Nixon, Jimmy Carter, Reagan, Clinton, the Bushes, and even for Obama.  Il Duce Obama ran as a moderate, in favor of a border wall and deporting illegal aliens, and against gay marriage. The answer was populism.  Donald Trump certainly got the message.

But somewhere along the way, the Democrats abandoned the middle strategy for identity politics.  They began to cater to every isolated niche, instead of to the Real Majority.  And even as they did so, they knew it was a mistake.  Remember, they sold Joe Biden to us as a “moderate.”  It was a lie, but they said it.  This past November, Spanberger in Virginia and Sherrill in New Jersey were called “moderates,” the fact that they voted 100% of the time with Nancy Pelosi notwithstanding.  They had to pretend to be moderate.

But now, the national Democrat Party is embracing pure insanity.  They revere Il Duce Obama, who deported millions of illegals, but vilify Trump, for deporting hundreds of thousands.  They support Soros funded prosecutors who refuse to enforce the law.  They increasingly justify resorts to violence, rioting, and open street warfare, in support of policies guaranteed to bankrupt the country, erode public safety, and eradicate personal freedoms.  But why?  What is the root cause of their insanity?

It’s really very simple.  When cornered, a wounded animal will fight desperately for survival.  And that’s where Democrats find themselves.  While their leadership moved hard Left, the electorate did not follow.  For years, they predicted that, “the browning of America,” a population consisting of fewer White voters and more voters from minority groups, would result in a permanent Democrat majority.   They were certain that, anyone with a Spanish surname would automatically and forever become a Democrat voter.  They miscalculated.

For years, Democrats, and many RINO Republicans, took for granted that legal Hispanic immigrants would naturally favor an influx of illegal aliens, and therefore punish any Party that favored controlling the borders.  That turned out to be wrong.  In 2024, Trump ran on a platform of closing the borders to illegals and deporting those who had entered.  A majority of Hispanic Americans supported him.  He even won Texas border counties that had voted Democrat for 100 years.

The Trump drive to deport illegals is a stake in the heart of the Democrat Party, which relies on counting illegal aliens in the census to maintain power in Congress.  That’s the “root cause” of their embrace of illegal immigration.  It also explains why Democrats fight so fiercely against requiring voter ID to vote.

You need an ID to drive, to buy a beer, to ride on a plane, or to register in a hotel.  Want FedEx to ship a package for you?  You better have an ID.  But Democrats say, “you want to choose the next president?  No ID is required.”  Are they advocating for a popular position?  Hardly.  More than 80% of Americans favor requiring ID to vote.  That figure includes 71% of Democrats.  80% of Americans agree on little else.  Republicans are trying to pass legislation to require ID for federal elections, but Democrats are against it.

Why can’t the overwhelming majority of Americans have what they want?  Because 213 Democrat House members and 47 Democrat Senators say no.  They’re desperate to maintain power.  It’s no coincidence that the only States Kamala Harris won in the 2024 election were States without voter ID laws.  As I said, Democrats need a large supply of illegal aliens to stay in power.  The illegals counted in the census help to determine the number of House seats each State gets.

Each member of the House of Representatives represents about 800,000 people.  An influx of 16,000,000 illegals equates to 20 House seats.  Conversely, if 8,000,000 illegals are deported, or choose to voluntarily leave between 2025 and 2030, which could happen, subtract 10 House seats from Democrat districts.  Add to this the population shifts that have occurred, with millions leaving Blue States for Red, and Democrats have a real problem.

Illegal alien removals aside, Blue States are expected to lose about 12 House seats in 2030.  Texas and Florida, each of which have gained 2 million residents, may gain at least three seats each.  Georgia, North Carolina, Arizona, Utah and Idaho also should gain a seat each.  The big losers?  California, New York, and Illinois.

On top of this, a group of Republican Attorneys General are suing to change the census rules to eliminate counting of illegal aliens.  If successful, that plus the Trump deportation efforts, could intensify Democrat House losses, which correspondingly result in Electoral College losses for Democrats.

That’s why resisting voter ID laws is so important to Democrats.  The detestable Chuck Schumer calls any voter ID requirement “Jim Crow 2.0.”  He should know too, because every Jim Crow law was enacted and enforced by Democrats, who frustrated every attempt to pass civil rights legislation for 100 years.  Nit wit Jamie Raskin is now trying to equate voter ID laws with unconstitutional poll taxes, another tactic perfected by Democrats like himself.

In the end, these new Democrat talking points won’t work.  Georgia voter ID laws were denounced by Democrats, even though, after they were enacted, more Black voters voted than ever before.  The truth is, where voter ID is required, free IDs are widely available, and even without an ID on election day, anyone can still vote, either by provisional ballot, or simply by signing an affidavit attesting that you are a citizen.

But there is a paradox for Democrats.  If they choose the logical long term solution, and allow passage of the voter ID laws that 81% of Americans support, they risk alienating their crazy leftist base that their foray into identity politics has stirred up.  A shift toward sanity would bring losses in the near term, and a temporary loss of power that they refuse to contemplate.

As a result, you can bet on more resistance, more violence, and even more discord.  Much of the tumult is also fueled by Trump Derangement Syndrome.  When the Trump devil finally is gone, Democrats may bend to the inevitable and truly moderate.  Until then, however, we’re in for a bumpy ride.

This offering was inspired by an observation made by Greg Gutfeld on a recent show.  Gutfeld pointed out the logical inconsistency between socialist rhetoric and socialist policies.  More specifically, he noted that socialists espouse positions that result in chaos and death, and then call them “compassionate.”

For instance, new New York City Mayor Mamdani, a proud socialist, in his inaugural address promised that New Yorkers would be comforted by “the warmth of collectivism.”  As part of his collectivist agenda, Mamdani decided that, unlike his predecessors, he would not to interfere with homeless encampments on the streets of the City, by moving the homeless to shelters during cold weather.  This decision was hailed as a demonstration of his respect and “compassion” for what leftists like to call “the unhoused community.”

Thus, in the same City where Democrats tell us that illegal aliens have a right to free housing, the Mayor, as a sign of his socialist enlightenment, left the homeless on the streets in January.  Unfortunately, “the warmth of collectivism” was no match for Mother Nature.  As temperatures plunged into the single digits for weeks at a time, and a foot of snow fell, the homeless huddled on the streets.  When the storm was over, the bodies of 16 homeless people, victims of hypothermia, were collected off the sidewalks.

There was no media outcry over these deaths.  In truth, because a socialist Democrat is now in charge, there is no mention of homelessness at all by the media, such outrage being reserved for conservative officials alone.  And there’s the paradox.  In order to be compassionate, a socialist is required to withhold official action to protect citizens, in order to exhibit respect for their choice.  And if such exhibition results in deaths, so be it.

As Gutfeld put it, the socialist must accept death in service of ideology.  Sadly true, and this put me in mind of Josef Stalin’s famous quotation, “The death of one person is a tragedy, but one million deaths are only a statistic.”  Each of the roughly 100 million people killed by socialist/communists in the past century could attest to this philosophy.

And the New York homeless problem is just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to the ridiculous, illogical, and dangerous lengths that those who fancy themselves “progressive” are willing to go to exhibit their perverted view of “compassion.”

In their world, permitting men to compete in women’s sports, is necessary to  show compassion for transgender people.  If this results in female athletes with shattered dreams, or shattered bones, so be it.  Advocating for children to be surgically mutilated and ruined for life likewise exhibits support for transgenderism.  The maimed children are just collateral damage.

The protests against ICE operations to deport illegal aliens is another example.  Compassion for “undocumented migrants” must be shown at any cost.  The facts that ICE is removing murderers and child molesters from our midst, and that ICE has recovered 147,000 missing children are irrelevant.  Attention must be paid to “our neighbors” in “the migrant community.”  And if scores of Americans have to be beaten, raped or murdered to serve that ideology, it’s just the price they have to pay.

I say the price “they” have to pay because the most vocal and influential socialists who engage in such virtue signalling are never the ones who have to pay the price.  The elected socialists don’t have to experience the consequences of their programs.  The Hollywood assholes who go on awards shows wearing their ICE OUT buttons are safe behind their gates, protected by bodyguards.

Socialist policies don’t have to make sense, and few of them do.  What sane person would protest the enforcement of laws?  Socialists do.  They vote for prosecutors who promise not to prosecute criminals. They resist and denounce the use of federal law enforcement that has reduced street crime to its lowest levels in a century.

They constantly rant about “our democracy,” “civil society,” and nonsense like “it takes a village,” while at the same time supporting policies guaranteed to end democracy, and destroy any semblance of civil society.  They do this  because that’s their plan.  There’s an element among dedicated socialists who want to bring about the collapse of our form of government, to be replaced with the socialist workers’ paradise that led to the deaths of the 100 million victims mentioned above.

Their mindless resistance to the enforcement of immigration laws, among them, one signed by Bill Clinton, which limited or more specifically, removed the jurisdiction of the review from the District Courts jurisdiction over reviews of deportation decisions made by immigration authorities, has been flaunted and ignored by meddlesome, activist judges, who need to be put in their place by higher courts.

The violent protests going on in Minnesota, Portland, Los Angeles, and other cities serve multiple purposes.  They stir up resistance by foolish protestors, and stoked by leftist elected officials, endeavor to protest and forestall the exposure of massive fraud in government programs which have helped to balloon our massive debt, and are, in fact, a manifestation of sheer desperation by Democrats, who are pulling out all the stops to retain their grip on power.

The fact is that the deportations of millions of illegal aliens, both by the government and by the decisions of aliens to return to their countries voluntarily, the very issue that propelled Trump back into office, threatens to deprive Democrats of the House seats, and thus the electoral votes that they need to remain in control.

The fact that their resistance, and indeed their refusal to acknowledge and submit to the supremacy of federal law as it pertains to immigration, defies the Constitution that all of them swore to uphold makes no difference to them.  As I said, they never pay, only you do.  They are willing to defy the will of the American electorate in their sheer lust for power.

That’s really what’s fueling all the tumult they are fomenting.  More about that next week.  In the mean time, Trump and ICE are defusing the situation in Minnesota by drawing down the ICE presence in Minnesota.  Democrats are portraying this draw down as a victory for their position.

It’s not.  Fewer ICE forces are needed in Minnesota only because Tom Homan is getting unprecedented support from local officials in that State.  By turning over illegals who have warrants of removal and who are in local jails and prisons, ICE can use one officer to take each of these people into custody, instead of a team of 12 or more agents to forcibly remove them.  It’s the Minnesota officials who have blinked, not ICE.

But don’t get complacent.  There’s a two week truce in effect, while Congress discusses possible changes to immigration laws.  Once that time expires, we’ll be right back to confrontation and another government shut down.  Stay tuned.

Minnesota’s insurrection ICE capades ramped up again last Saturday, when an armed man was shot and killed by ICE agents while he was resisting arrest, as it turns out, for the second time in a week.  This shortly after the killing of a woman who nearly ran over an ICE agent with her car.  Surprising no one, the Left and its lap dog media knows who’s to blame – Trump.

The usual political suspects are calling the same names – Hitler, fascist, Nazi, etc.  The ICE operations this week were compared, seriously, to Nazi roundups of Jews who were taken to death camps.  That idiot, Governor Tim Walz, even compared Minnesota rioters shielding illegal aliens from deportation to Ann Frank hiding in an attic in World War II.  The Director of the National Holocaust Museum had to cry foul on that one.

And speaking of idiotic Tim Walz, his oped in The Wall Street Journal this week, was even more outrageous.  Entitled, The Un-American Assault on Minnesota, the piece, and it truly was a piece, complained of “a campaign of brutality,” that “shot and killed two of our neighbors.”  He said, “countless other protesters were physically attacked,” and that the only thing the subjects of the operations (illegal aliens) had done wrong was “to exist as persons of color.”  What unmitigated horse shit.

One of the “neighbors” who was shot obstructed ICE operations for hours.  She ignored orders to leave the area.  When she was ordered from her car, she gunned the engine, and nearly ran over a ICE agent.  The second Minnesota “neighbor” had, a week earlier, obstructed the ICE officers.  When they tried to arrest him, he resisted arrest, and suffered a broken rib.  Luckily, he was a nurse, so he knew how to treat his wound.

On Saturday, he returned to the scene of ICE operations, this time without any identification, and armed with a loaded semi-automatic pistol, and two spare magazines, enough ammunition to shoot 30 people.  When he ignored orders to leave, and the agents tried to arrest him, he resisted 6 officers who were attempting to handcuff him, the gun came out, and he was shot.  The incident is the subject of an ongoing investigation.

But back to Governor moron.  The only thing the targets did wrong was to be people of color?  Well, no, and no.  Your complexion, or being from a Spanish speaking country isn’t a wrong.  In fact, more than half of all ICE agents are Hispanic.  In any case, the people ICE is trying to arrest in Minnesota are illegal aliens who have committed crimes, here, or in their own countries.  They are subject to removal by law, and they include murderers, rapists, and child molesters.  These are the neighbors the Minnesota maniacs are trying to protect.

Walz went on to claim that Minnesota does cooperate with ICE.  That’s a blatant lie.  And I loved this one.  He said “everyone in Minnesota wants to see the immigration laws enforced.”  I guess that is, except all elected officials, and the violent nuts in the streets.  This was the best one though.  Walz said, all Minnesotans are doing is “protesting, loudly and urgently, but peacefully.” Sound familiar?  The last time Trump uttered those words, he was impeached, and then indicted.

And who is Walz trying to kid?  Assaults on ICE agents are up over 1,000 percent.  There’s a big difference between protesting and obstruction of justice.  Protestors march up and down with their signs, singing and chanting.  Rioters, like the nuts in Minnesota, stalk the agents, blowing whistles to warn illegal aliens.  They dox the agents, disclosing their addresses, so their families can be attacked.  They throw rocks, and shoot fireworks at the agents.  They physically assault them, and then they resist arrest.  And some of the Governor’s “neighbors” have deep pockets.  The revolutionaries are being bankrolled by people with enough money to provide access to internet tracking systems, and to have trucks magically appear, providing the nuts with ballistic shields and commercially printed signs.

And the insurrection seems to be gathering followers.  The same day the Walz Oped ran, Journal editor Gerard Baker published his piece, Time for a Cease- Fire on Immigration Enforcement.  Baker says the two killings were avoidable.  I agree.  If Ms. Good didn’t try to run over the agents, she would be alive.  As for Mr. Pretti, having been arrested a week earlier, he was fully aware of the line where protest becomes obstruction of justice.  He not only came back and crossed that line, but he purposely took a loaded gun to a riot that he, himself was provoking.  Had he left the gun at home, he would be alive.

In the wake of this latest shooting, the Administration is trying to lower the temperature in Minnesota.  That’s a good idea.  But simply pulling all agents out and declaring a “ceasefire” is not.  A federal retreat would be taken as a victory by the Leftist revolutionaries, who would then spread their violent tactics to other locations.

Mr. Baker admits that the Trump Administration’s efforts to remove illegal aliens are legitimate and necessary, and enjoy full democratic legitimacy.  The inquiry should stop right there.  He goes on to admit that the far Left and their Democrat enablers are trying to get us to abandon all efforts at immigration enforcement.  Makes sense so far.  But then he goes off the rails.

Baker then says, that their efforts to undermine the process are nothing compared to the public unease being generated by the tactics ICE is using.  “Masked men, equipped for street warfare.”  Mr. Baker, they’re masked because Leftist nuts are doxing them and threatening their families.  They’re equipped for  street warfare because they are engaged in a war on the streets, and not a war of their own choosing.

ICE has to employ frightening, seemingly heavy-handed tactics because and only because the governments of sanctuary States like Minnesota prohibit police officers from aiding ICE or even from coming to the assistance of brother officers who are under attack.  That is a shameful dereliction of duty for any law enforcement officer.  The reason for the resort to urban warfare in Minnesota isn’t misconduct by ICE officers.  They’re just fighting for their own survival.

Simply put, the problem isn’t too many ICE officers in Minnesota, it’s too many revolutionaries in that State, coupled with elected officials who openly aid and abet insurrection.  In Texas, ICE apprehends and deports 10 times as many illegal aliens as in Minnesota, without incident.  The difference is that the Texas government recognizes the constitutional authority of the federal government, and Minnesota’s does not.  They’re too busy trying to shield themselves and their Somali fraudsters from federal scrutiny.

Thirty years ago, Hollywood produced a movie entitled Independence Day.  You may remember it.  Will Smith, Randy Quaid, Jeff Goldlbum, and others.  The theme was that the country was going along just fine, but one day, an alien invader appeared, bent on conquering the world.  I especially enjoyed the part where the invaders blew up the Capitol building.

The movie aliens appeared to be all powerful.  It turned out that our military had captured an alien ship years before and had been searching for a means of defeating them.  The beleaugered Earthlings used every weapon at their command to stop the invaders, up to and including nuclear weapons, but the invaders just seemed to get stronger.  In the end, it turned out the invaders couldn’t be attacked head on.  The only way to defeat the threat was to introduce a computer virus that permitted the invaders to be defeated from within.

It occurred to me that the loony Leftists are in the process of remaking Independence Day.  For these crazy bastards, Trump and MAGA are the invading aliens bent on conquering the world.  Like the characters in the movie, the Left has been searching for a way to defeat the aliens for years, about eleven years, to be precise.

They tried every method of head-on attack they could use.  They spied on the aliens, and broke myriad laws to prevent the aliens from taking over.  They prosecuted them.  They impeached them.  They libeled them.  They tried to pretend the aliens didn’t exist by removing them from ballots.  They tried to bankrupt the aliens.  They tried to imprison the aliens.  Then they twice tried to kill the alien leader.  But they failed.  The alien invaders were too strong to be defeated in a direct attack, and they just grew stronger.  So now they are trying to defeat the aliens by injecting a virus to poison them from within.

The internal virus being utilized by the Left now is called the resistance, or more precisely the illusion that there exists a righteous resistance to an extremist threat being posed by the Trump Administration.  Ground Zero for this operation is Minnesota.

The Trump Administration is in the process of enforcing the duly enacted immigration laws that are on the books, and have been on the books for decades.  These laws, codified in Title 8 of the United States Code, are laws that were enacted by Congress, and in most cases, Congresses that were controlled by Democrat majorities.

These laws prescribe who may be lawfully admitted to the United States, who may be or must be deported if they have entered the country, and the manner in which such actions are to be undertaken.  These laws are not, or at least should not be controversial.

One does not have to look hard or long to uncover dozens of statements by prominent Democrats about the need to protect or borders from illegal aliens in general, and from illegal aliens who were convicted of serious crimes before they came to our country, or have committed crimes once they arrived on our shores in particular.

The list of these prominent Democrats includes Il Duce Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton, Chuck Schumer, and none other than Corrupt Demented Imbecile Joe Biden himself.  All of the above, in the recent past, are on record as supporting such things as building a border wall to keep illegals out.  They all talked about it, and voted to do just that.

The Left’s zeal to rid America of the alien threat of Trump and his MAGA movement from 2015 to 2025 changed all that.  Biden and the Democrats, with the aid and comfort of a number of RINO Republicans, were content to ignore, flaunt, and outright violate the duly enacted laws of the United States if that was the only way to remove the threat of the evil, alien Orange Man and his supporters.

From 2021 to January 2025, Biden and company admitted more than 10 million new illegal aliens to our country to inundate or system of government, and to tip the balance of power their way in perpetuity.  They did this without any rhyme or reason, without any semblance of vetting, and with complete disregard for the consequences.

The true fact is that Trump and MAGA aren’t threats to “our democracy,” as they so love to repeat, but to the continuance of their control over a corrupt system, that permitted them to tap into trillions of dollars that they simply printed, adding to an already unsustainable national debt.

You see, the Left and the conservatives have two diametrically opposed views of the social safety net that made America they envy of the world, and the preferred haven for the world’s immigrants.  Simply put, Republicans view the safety net as a trampoline, which cradles the needy before catapulting them up and out to self reliance.  Democrats view it as a hammock, in which millions can be nestled in perpetuity.  It wasn’t always this way.

Laws, necessary laws, supported by members of the former Democrat Party, such as the requirement that no immigrant was to come here if he or she would be a public charge, were ignored, because the Democrats knew that, the more people who could be made dependent on our social welfare programs, the more money could be spent on their support.  This money, then is funneled to supposedly well meaning government agencies, and then to NGO’s, non-governmental organizations like Catholic Charities, to be spent on the needy.  Only much of the money goes not to the needy, but instead is funneled back to the Democrat Party in the guise of campaign contributions.

Along the way, billions of dollars were siphoned off by fraudsters.  In Minnesota, more than $10 billion in outright theft has been uncovered. It goes without saying that the scope of the theft in places like California, New York, and elsewhere will dwarf this number.

Much of the Minnesota graft came into the hands of Somali immigrants.  The Trump Administration understandably is trying to prosecute the criminals and recoop some of the money.  The Administration surged ICE officials and other law enforcement people into Minnesota.  Financial investigations are underway, and ICE has arrested and is arresting thousands of criminal illegal aliens in that State.

With the future of the Democrat money spigot at risk of being shut off for good, the impetus to expel the the Trump/MAGA alien invasion threat was ratcheted up.  The Democrat response – insurrection.  The so-called sanctuary States now are not only declining to help ICE, but are affirmatively obstructing the operations of the federal government by means of violence.

The Insurrection Act is a U.S. federal law authorizes the president of the United States to deploy “such part of the land or naval force of the United States” that the president deems necessary, including using the military and State militias, to suppress an insurrection or to enable the local enforcement of federal or state laws.  An insurrection is an organized and usually violent act of revolt or rebellion against an established government or governing authority of a nation-state or other political entity by a group of its citizens or subjects.  By any measure, that’s what’s going on in Minnesota and elsewhere.  For example, the Attorney General of Arizona this week said citizens might be justified in shooting ICE officers who wear masks, under the State’s Stand Your Ground law.  So, uniformed officers come out of a truck emblazoned with “ICE,” they wear badges and have “ICE” on their chests and backs, but you can shoot them because you didn’t know they were cops?  If she’s the chief law enforcement officer in the State, God help Arizona.

For Democrats, it’s Insurrection Day, because that’s the only means at their disposal to stop Trump.  Invocation of the Insurrection Act would be justified, but it’s risky, because such a flexing of federal muscle is controversial.  And Democrats are fanning the flames using their favored methodology – lying.  They’re claiming that the use of the Insurrection Act is a prelude to Trump’s use of the military to cancel the mid-term elections.  That’s nonsense of course, but the Democrats will use any means to keep their snouts in the unlimited pig trough of federal funds.

If they can gain control of the House in November, they can cancel all Trump programs, and keep impeaching him until his term runs out.  It’s a dangerous game they’re playing with the U.S. government, but they don’t care and it may work.  What they’re doing is shameful and unAmerican.  They have chosen the welfare of criminal illegal aliens, including murderers and child molesters, over the welfare of the people and the Constitution they have sworn to protect.  We’re in big trouble, and if Americans can’t be made to see the truth between now and November, I shudder to think of the consequences.
