FRANK ON FRIDAY – Department of Injustice

If you go to downtown Washington you will see the building which houses the Department of Justice very near to the National Archives, which is the home of the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution.  Putting aside the fact that the Justice Department building is named for Robert F. Kennedy, an Attorney General who routinely ordered illegal searches and wiretaps on people such as Martin Luther King, it has become quite apparent that justice is just about the last thing that we are getting from this Department of our government.  The election of Donald Trump last year came as a shock to the entrenched establishment of both political parties.  Like other Departments, Justice Department employees were expecting a smooth transition from the Obama to the Hillary Clinton Administration.  Business as usual.  That didn’t happen.  Instead of Attorney General Mark Elias, they got Attorney General Jeff Sessions.  A new Administration, with Obama holdovers in nearly every high-ranking position in the Department.  We hear every day about “the deep State.”  These are the people who work for the federal government, and keep advancing their agendas no matter who is elected to office.  The State Department is infested with permanent employees who pursue their foreign policies, regardless of who’s President.  Every other Department has the same embedded employees.  For some purposes this is a good thing, for it would be impossible to replace thousands of employees overnight when a new President is elected.  The ship of State must sail on, and the holdovers navigate until the new Administration puts its own people in charge.  At least, that’s the way it always used to work.  But not anymore.  Not in the era of Trump.  Not when the Senate has greatly delayed the approvals of Trump nominees.  Not when the dark State sees itself as an occupying force, dedicated to resistance against this President.  Such an attitude from people who are subordinate to Donald Trump is embarrassing and inconvenient when it comes from an agency such as the EPA.  When outright resistance, and indeed guerilla war, is declared by the Justice Department on the President, it is a clear and present danger to our democracy.  If you look up at the Justice Department building, you will see the following inscription in the stone –   NO FREE GOVERNMENT CAN SURVIVE THAT IS NOT BASED ON THE SUPREMACY OF THE LAW  WHERE LAW ENDS TYRANNY BEGINS  LAW ALONE CAN GIVE US FREEDOM   Those who work at the Justice Department ought to read that inscription and take it to heart, because what is going on today is a mockery of justice, which smacks of Banana Republic/Police State tyranny, and which is a mortal threat to our freedom.  It began in January.  Trump issued his travel restriction Orders.  He had every right to do so.  Second in command at Justice, Sally Yates, refused to defend the Orders.  Trump fired her.  He had every right to do so.  Then the Comey firing.  Trump had every right to fire him, even Deputy AG Rob Rosenstein agreed at the time.  Then the Russian collusion investigation.  After Jeff Sessions recused himself, unnecessarily I think, because as a Member of the Foreign Relations Committee, he was supposed to speak to ambassadors, including the one from Russia, Comey released his private Memos, and the same Rosenstein appointed Bob Mueller as a Special Counsel to investigate.  Mueller compiled a Dream Team of Trump hating, Hillary supporting, liberal Democrats as prosecutors.  The lead attack dog, Andrew Weissman, actually praised Sally Yates for resisting the Trump Orders.  Weissman is notorious for his zeal to destroy all suspects at any cost.  He famously sent Enron employees to jail on a legal theory so bogus that the convictions were reversed.  Weissman single-handedly destroyed the Arthur Anderson accounting firm by making it liable for some of the Enron crimes, these convictions also reversed by the courts, but of course, not until after multiple defendants had been bankrupted, had their reputations and lives ruined, and languished in prison before justice actually was done.  Coming from a career Prosecutor such as myself, Weissman is a stain on all prosecutors, yet he was turned loose on the President.  So far, Mueller, Weissman and the 15 other prosecutors have spent $17 million, and indicted Paul Manafort for supposed crimes dating to 2004 (nothing to do with the 2016 election).  Weissman conducted a dawn raid on Manafort’s home to seize documents.  Totally improper for such an investigation.  General Flynn has admitted to lying to the FBI.  The Flynn case is a travesty of justice.  The FBI, an agency with a formerly pristine reputation for honesty and fair-dealing, has become nothing more than muscle for the gangsters posing as Special Counsels.  The FBI got FISA warrants on Trump & Co. before the election.  We think the warrants were derived from the British dossier, which was written in part by Russian Intelligence officers, and paid for by Hillary.  We can’t be sure though, because the FBI has refused to provide documents and testify before Congressional Committees that have subpoenaed the information.  Then we learned that the chief FBI investigator is also a Trump hater, he and his wife supported Hillary, and he shared with his mistress anti-Trump texts.  Oh yeah, and he also was the guy who interviewed Hillary (unrecorded and unsworn), gave her buddies immunity, changed the language of Comey’s exoneration of Hillary to protect her, and also ambushed General Flynn, by eliciting from him a slightly different version of the facts about what Flynn said to the Russian ambassador, while all the time having a complete transcript of what was said, the transcript likely gained from an illegal wiretap.  The goal is to depose a duly elected President by concocting something, anything, that dishonest Democrats can use to impeach Trump, should they gain control of the House next year.  The whole thing stinks to high Heaven.  They say it is the coverup, and not he crime that gets you.  The Mueller investigation is itself the coverup, of all the dishonest, unethical and illegal crap that the Obama Administration in general, and Hillary Clinton in particular engaged in prior to, leading up to, and after the 2016 election.  If Hillary had won, they could have buried their misconduct, but Trump won, and now threatens to expose their crimes.  That’s why they must destroy Trump before the truth gets out.  If they succeed, in America, law will end and tyranny will begin.

FRANK ON FRIDAY – Moby Trump, The White Male

Now more than a year after the 2016 election, Hillary Clinton remains deranged, and seems to be slipping ever closer to out-and-out madness.  Hillary was supposed to win.  All the media told her she would win.  All her campaign staff (except husband Bill) told her she was going to win.  Hillary didn’t win on November 8th, so from November 9th on, Hillary started blaming others.  Now she can’t stop, and it’s not healthy.  According to Ed Klein’s new book All Out War, Hillary has begun to drink heavily.  She has gained weight, and in recent TV appearances without makeup, she’s frightening.  The one thing Hillary steadfastly clings to is her insane delusion that the reason why she lost the election was Trump’s collusion with Russians.  Neither Hillary, nor the rest of the deranged Left can accept the fact that the reason no evidence of any collusion has been found is because no collusion took place.  Hillary “reasons” that, because both the Russians and Trump didn’t like her, they must have been working together.  It sounds plausible, but it doesn’t add up.  As Melville wrote of Ahab in Moby Dick, “All my means are sane, my motive and my object mad.” The Klein book puts this into context.  The Russian distaste for Hillary dated to her tenure as Secretary of State.  They didn’t want to deal with her as President.  Donald Trump just did to Hillary what he had done to the 17 other Republican candidates, he savaged and defeated her.  But no, Hillary cannot accept the truth.  She continues to claim that Trump was the tool of the Russians, and has vowed to lead the resistance against him, at a time when the majority of the Democrat Party would just like to see her disappear.  It occurred to me that Hillary’s obsession with Donald Trump is not unlike the obsession of Herman Melville’s Captain Ahab.  Recall that whaling captain Ahab, who lost his leg to the white whale in a previous encounter, began a mindless pursuit of Moby, leading to Ahab’s death.  The parallels are stunning.  Hillary was injured politically by Obama in 2008.  Trump cut the political legs out from under her in 2016, and now she craves vengeance.  To sane observers, Moby Dick is just a big white whale, who does whatever whales do.  Thus, Donald Trump just did the things presidential candidates do in an election.  Ahab, or in our case Hillhab, on the other hand, believes that Moby Trump is the embodiment of evil.  She  pits herself and humanity in an epic, timeless struggle against the White Male who injured her.  She believes that killing Moby Trump will eradicate evil.  Like Ahab, Hillhab is too literal a reader of the world around her.  Instead of interpreting the loss of an election as a common consequence of her occupation and perhaps as a punishment for taking excessive risks, she sees her loss as evidence of evil cosmic forces persecuting her. (The Russians colluded).  Ahab says he sees Moby Dick as a “mask,” behind which lies a great power whose dominance Ahab refuses to accept.  Ahab sees that inscrutable power as evil.  Likewise, Hillhab refuses to recognize the dominant “great power” as the electorate finally fed up with business as usual, and sees only the Russians as an inscrutable evil power.  Those around Ahab viewed Moby Dick merely as a dangerous wild animal.  Those around Hillhab view Moby Trump merely as a dangerous political animal, but to Hillhab, Moby Trump is the personification of evil, the evil White Male, who denied her her life’s ambition.  It doesn’t matter if Hillhab’s obsession is unreasonable, as Melville wrote, “Think not, is my eleventh commandment.”  It doesn’t matter if her obsession is down-right crazy. As Melville wrote, “for there is no folly of the beast of the earth which is not infinitely outdone by the madness of men,” and “Talk not to me of blasphemy, man; I’d strike the sun if it insulted me.”  Clearly Hillhab has sustained a crippling loss, but just as clearly, she’s supposed to be an intelligent woman who knows better.  Though as Melville said of Ahab, “There is a wisdom that is woe; but there is a woe that is madness.”  Hillhab seems utterly consumed by a madness that prevents her from moving on with what should be a comfortable life, after a creditable career of public service. (That was hard to type, but at least she should believe that).  Instead she mindlessly pursues Moby Trump, the great White Male who bested her, spewing invective, and vowing retribution.  We can only hope that Hillhab will snap out of it before it destroys her, lest she reprise the last words spoken by Ahab, after Moby had destroyed his ship. “…to the last I grapple with thee; from hell’s heart I stab at thee; for hate’s sake I spit my last breath at thee.”  Then Ahab went under for the last time.  Let’s hope it doesn’t come to that for Hillary.  Hillhab can no more destroy Moby Trump, than Ahab could destroy Moby Dick.  It would be a shame if Hillary’s obsession brought her to the same fate to which Herman Melville consigned his captain so many years ago.  Then again, as Melville told us, “Verily there is nothing new under the sun.”

FRANK ON FRIDAY – Giving Thanks

On Thanksgiving, it’s traditional to state the things for which we are thankful, so here goes.  First, I am thankful that crazy, murdering SOB Charles Manson finally dropped dead.  There never was a being less worthy of living among civilized people than Manson, who murdered many more than the 8 people he was convicted of killing, who raped and abused countless young women, and who warped the minds of his followers.  Because the death penalty was abolished, the society that Manson attempted to destroy had to house and feed him for the last 48 years, till thankfully, he croaked.  He was 83.  They say only the good die young, but I think Manson lasted so long because the Devil didn’t want any competition in Hell.  Adios Charlie.  Secondly, I am thankful that the Left, which just 13 months ago was predicting the demise of the Republican Party, is itself being torn apart by internal division.  The Dems are split between the Bernie faction, that wants to go full-blown Marxist, the establishment faction, that is merely Socialist, and who just want to keep their phony-baloney jobs, and the violent anarchists.  The Democrats who know better are desperately trying to craft some message for the 2018 elections, other than “we hate Trump.”  They are failing.  So great is their desperation that they now have concluded that it’s time to cut ties with the Clintons.  Bill Clinton, who just last year was the rock star of the Democrat convention, is now persona non grata.  The Clintons have their own troubles, what with investigators closing in on the Uranium One scandal and the questionable Russian-connected contributions to the Clinton Foundation.  It’s so bad that Democrats, after some 25 years, have even begun saying Slick Willie should have resigned because of his sexual abuse of women.  Hillary Clinton still isn’t convinced though.  She says we are “misremembering history.”  Maybe she forgot the Clinton War Room dedicated to addressing Bill’s “bimbo eruptions,” or her own defamation of the women accusing her husband.  She knows who to blame, however.  Donald Trump.  Hillary added, “After all, we have someone admitting to being a sexual assaulter in the Oval Office.”  Maybe she had a flashback to her husband’s tenure.  Hillary, please, look in the mirror, and seek help.  Most of all, however, I am thankful that the entire left-wing liberal world is being torn apart by continual allegations of sexual harassment and abuse.  These are the same liberals who claim to be enlightened and who think they are always right.  These liberals know everything, except it seems that grabbing women’s asses and walking around in the nude in front of female subordinates may be objectionable.  Last week’s Frank on Friday contained a long list of celebrities and alleged celebrities caught in the scandal, but the plot thickens.  Another woman has accused Al Franken.  I never thought Al Franken was funny when he was a comedian, but I’m laughing now.  After recently being extolled by Maxine Waters no less (and there is no less), for his support of women, 88 year old Congressman John Conyers was accused of sexually harassing, then having the government pay a settlement, to a female employee.  I guess if you are “supporting” women you have to put your hands on them.  A Conyers staffer says her job was to fly women in for affairs with the Congressman.  (Thank God for Viagra).   Reportedly, the Congressional Office of Compliance has paid out more than $15 million of hard earned taxpayers’ money in settlement of sexual harassment claims involving our elected officials.  Of course, although we got the bill for their bad behavior, the taxpayers are not allowed to know the names of the elected perverts who got caught.  Some Congressmen now are claiming even they didn’t know about these payments.  And of course, the media, which demands “transparency” from the Trump Administration, is neither demanding the names of these elected miscreants nor trying to uncover them.  I wonder why?  Could it be that they know that if the truth came out about these abusers it would predominantly impact Democrats?  Bet on it.  Last weekend, liberal media hacks on television were pontificating that the sex harassment issue “is not a Republican or Democrat issue.”  Whenever the media tells you a scandal should not be politicized, you know whose ox is about to be gored.  Moving on to the media, I am thankful that the sexual harassment ax has fallen on some of the most arrogant, self-righteous A-holes in the business.  New York Times reporter Glenn Thrush, who posed as an advocate for female reporters, has been suspended over allegations that he improperly touched women.  What makes this even funnier is that just a week ago, Thrush decried the same conduct by journalist Mark Halperin.  “Improper touching,” huh?  Maybe Thrush should have consulted with John Conyers to learn what represents “proper touching.”  Then, Charlie Rose, the dean of the all-knowing, all-pompous liberal media, was fired by CBS, PBS and Bloomberg for sexually abusing female employees.  The 75 year old Rose wasn’t penitent though, he said he thought he was just “pursuing shared feelings.”  Yeah Charlie, those women came to your house just hoping you would prance around in the nude, showing off your wrinkled old ass.  So yes, at this season of Thanksgiving, I am thankful that the highly educated, vastly superior human beings who populate Hollywood, Washington, D.C. and the media are being decimated.  The left constantly accuses Republicans of a “a war on women,” but the women have met the enemy and the enemy is their own hypocritical supposed supporters.  The Hollywood crowd made fun of and destroyed standards for their movies.  Sex and violence became the norm.  The left destroyed any notions that the law should protect morality.  The liberals successfully destroyed all sense of decency or indecency.  They once excused Bill Clinton, because, “it was just sex.” But now it seems that the liberal ladies auxiliary is rebelling.  Anything no longer goes.  The bastards are reaping what they have sown.  The liberals have succeeded in creating a world where Charlie Rose can’t be on television, but rapper Snoop Dog, who famously sang, “Bitches ain’t shit but hoes and tricks,” can host his own show without objection.  If that’s the best the liberal masterminds can do, then give me the builder from Queens.

FRANK ON FRIDAY – Pervert Epidemic

A couple of weeks ago, I wrote about the proliferation of sexual harassment complaints being made against Hollywood “celebrities.”  Now, I must confess that the prospect of a bunch of liberal A-holes spending their time accusing, suing and prosecuting one another is delightful, but the sheer volume of these complaints now is spilling over into all aspects of society.  In October, the boom was lowered on Harvey Weinstein.  By all accounts, Weinstein is a real pig who deserves everything he’s going to get.  But the fall of Weinstein turned out to be just the tip of the iceberg.  Sex scandals in Hollywood are really nothing new.  In 1921 Fatty Arbuckle had the misfortune of being found with a dead woman.  He was tried 3 times before finally being acquitted of killing her. Whether the woman died after being raped by Arbuckle or of peritonitis from a septic abortion was never determined, but Arbuckle’s career was over.  Anyhow, once they blew the whistle on Weinstein, it became open season for Hollywood sex abuse complaints.  Here is a partial summary as of November 15 – Ben Affleck was accused of groping an MTV host.  He apologized one day after he condemned Weinstein’s behavior towards women.  Woody Allen, oh where to begin?  The latest is that his son Ronan Farrow has formally accused Allen of pedophilia. (That’s news?) Several women accused supposed comedian Louis C.K. of exposing himself and  masturbating in front of them.  He admits it’s true.  Comedian Andy Dick (you can’t make this stuff up), was accused of “groping people’s genitals, unwanted kissing/licking and sexual propositions.  Dick denied the groping, but admitted to licking and propositioning people. (Clearly he has standards) ER actor Anthony Edwards says he was molested by somebody named Gary Goddard.  Dustin Hoffman was accused of sexual harassment of a 17 year old intern.  Hoffman offered this “apology,” “I have the utmost respect for women and feel terrible that anything I might have done could have put her in an uncomfortable situation…It is not reflective of who I am.”  (He’s sorry if he did it, but he’s not sure he did it?)  Jeremy Piven was accused of groping an actress.  Producer/Director Brett Ratner was accused of being a rapist.  A member of the band Marilyn Manson was accused of rape.  Nickelodeon fired writer Chris Savino after multiple women lodged complaints.  Two actresses, including Juliana Marguiles accused Steven Segal of sexual harassment. Kevin Spacey has been accused of sexual harassment by actor Anthony Rapp.  Here’s one I love, Star Trek actor George Takei, who called Clarence Thomas a “clown in blackface,” was accused of sexually assaulting former model Scott  Brunton.  Beam him up the river.  Demonstrating his dedication to the LGBT community, actor Jeffrey Tambor was accused of inappropriate behavior by his former assistant, a transgender woman named Van Barnes.  Director James Toback who apparently molested everybody he ever met, now has been accused of sexually harassing over 300 women.  Manager Benny Medina was accused of raping an actress.  Actor Jeremy Piven was accused of groping an actress.  Amazon Studios head Roy Price quit after being accused of sexual harassment.  Producer/Director Brett Ratner was accused of sexually harassing six women.  Not to be outdone by his brother Harvey, Bob Weinstein, has been accused of harassing a TV producer.  Actor Ed Westwick  was accused of rape by an actress.  To fuel the cause of female empowerment, both Brittany Spears and Mariah Carey have been accused of sexually harassing their male security employees. (You go girls).  The sex harassment craze even has spread to the media, those ever-vigilant guarantors of progressivism.  At least a dozen women have accused ABC political director Mark Halperin of sexually harassing or assaulting them.  NPR editor Michael Oreskes was placed on leave after two female journalists said Oreskes had made unwanted sexual advances towards them 20 years ago.  I guess they just remembered.  If they are paid a settlement, will it come from public funding of NPR?  NBC Universal fired Senior Vice President for Booking, News & Entertainment Matt Zimmerman, following accusations of sexual misconduct.  Then, certainly no surprise, came the allegations against politicians.  During testimony before a House Committee, Representative Jackie Speier (D-CA) stated there are two current members of Congress, one Republican, and one Democrat who have sexually harassed people.  Jackie had to show bipartisanship, after all.  History was against her.  JFK was a serial adulterer.  Ted Kennedy and Chris Dodd molested a waitress in a Washington, D.C. restaurant, and Bill Clinton?  Don’t get me started.  It’s probably why they had to drag 93 year old George H.W. Bush into the act, accusing him of serial butt pinching.  But hold the presses!  On November 16, Democrat Al Franken was accused of sexually harassing a woman on a USO tour. (Bob Hope never did that).  This complaint came complete with a photo of Franken leering while trying to fondle the breasts of the sleeping woman.  But don’t worry, the Senate will investigate this.  Uh, huh.  Which brings us to Roy Moore in Alabama, who it seems had a habit of dating and/or abusing young girls, about 38 years ago.  With the proviso that it sure looks like he may have done it, one wonders why these women, now in their 50’s, chose to mention it when Moore has a chance to become only one of 100 blowhards in the Senate, but were not at all concerned the two times he was elected Chief Justice of Alabama.  The moral of this story, as far as I’m concerned, is that any woman who has been abused in any way should make as timely a complaint as she can manage, so that the offender can be stopped from abusing others.  Roy Moore may be a creep, but 38 year old complaints a month from an election are a political hit job, not the righteous indignation of a victim.  It was the Washington Post, and not the women, who pushed this story, and any case where Gloria Allred shows up is automatically suspect, but with that said, Roy Moore should fold his tent and steal away.  As a judge, he can’t give the Hollywood pervert excuse that, “I recently came to understand that sexual abuse is frowned upon in polite society.”  You have to wonder why Hollywood the A-holes think that’s an acceptable excuse.

FRANK ON FRIDAY – Tax Cut? What Tax Cut?

Donald Trump was elected one year ago on a platform of repealing and replacing Obamacare, and a massive tax cut for business and individuals.  The Republicans in Congress told us the repeal of Obamacare must come before the tax cut.  Then, they failed in three attempts to make any change in Obamacare.  No problem, they said, we’ll move on to tax reform.  The President had promised us a big tax cut.  We waited patiently for the House “framework” for tax reform to be announced.  The idea was to make a big cut in the corporate tax rate, which at 35%, is one of the highest in the world.  That’s a good idea.  All politicians, up to an including Barack Obama no less, and there is no less, have been claiming for years that they favor a cut in the corporate rate.  They said it, but no action ever was taken.  Donald Trump also promised a tax cut for the middle class, so that we would be able to keep more of the money we earn.  (That’s generous of them, isn’t it?)  Recently, the House released its tax reform framework, called “the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act.”  The release was accompanied by Trump tweets touting the reform as “the biggest tax cut in the history of our country.”  In fact, Trump wanted to call the proposal the Cut Cut Cut Act.  The President promised us “a big beautiful Christmas present in the form of a tremendous tax cut.”  As they say, however, the devil is in the details, and the details in the House tax reform framework are designed to cut, cut, cut the throats of millions of taxpayers such as myself.  In a sane and rational world, you might expect that, if a majority of the House and Senate want to cut tax rates, then they would simply reduce the current rates to lower rates.  So, the 25% rate would be cut to 23%, or whatever, right?  Wrong.  Washington is neither sane nor rational.  The problem is that, although Republicans allegedly control both houses of Congress and the presidency, the notorious Senate filibuster rule once again is preventing any simple and rational changes.  See, as with any issue coming before the Congress, the Democrats, who supposedly are part of the legislature, have decided not to participate in tax reform.  No Democrat will vote for a tax cut of any kind.  As a result, in order to get any bill out of a Senate which allegedly is controlled by Republicans, the bill must satisfy the rules of reconciliation.  In a nutshell, reconciliation is a means of circumventing the filibuster on a revenue bill, permitting the bill to be passed by a simple majority of the Senate, or 51 votes. (It’s shocking that the majority might actually rule in America, isn’t it?)  But reconciliation comes with strings attached.  In order to be passed, the bill must satisfy the Byrd Rule, which requires an estimate from the Congressional Budget Office to the effect that the proposed bill will not add to the federal deficit over a ten year period.  Never mind the facts that Robert Byrd is dead, that when he was alive he was a KKK member, that nobody cared about the Obama deficits, and that the CBO has never accurately predicted anything ten years in advance, it doesn’t matter, those are the rules.  What this means is that, in order to cut the corporate tax rate from 35% to 20%, again, a good idea, they had to balance the immediate effect of the corporate cuts with tax increases on the individual side.  In other words, they had to rob Peter to pay Paul, and as it turns out, I’m Peter.  The proposal cuts seven tax rates to three, or four, depending on who you believe.  I’m in the 25% bracket now, and after the biggest tax cut in American history (which it’s not) my tax rate will be .. 25%.  Be still my heart.  Okay, but the 25% tax rate won’t cut in till $90,000 in income, and the rate below it is 12%, so that’s good, but remember, it’s the details that count.  They say they are doubling the standard deduction.  That’s a lie.  While the standard deduction for a couple goes from $13,000 to $24,000, they eliminate the $8,100 in personal exemptions, they eliminate the deduction for state taxes, and they limit the deduction for property taxes.  The net result of all this for me is a loss of more than $11,000 in itemized deductions and the personal exemptions, which will raise my taxable income by nearly $20,000.  Simply put, the biggest tax cut in American history will increase my tax bill by $4,946, that’s a 17% tax increase.  Why am I being punished?  My only crime is that I was born in New Jersey, and foolishly decided to live and work here.  Think I’m one of those 1% filthy rich bastards who’s been undertaxed?  Think again.  In any case, although I’m not a fan of class warfare, the fact is that a couple with $1 million of taxable income actually does get a tax cut of $23,000, by means of a rate reduction to 35%.  I, on the other hand, am that middle class guy that every lying, cheating, thieving politician keeps swearing they’re trying to help.  Needless to say, an additional 5 grand out of my pocket, on top of the $60,000 I already pay in taxes will not help me.  A big selling point, for some reason, is the claim that you will be able to do your taxes on a postcard.  As long as there’s room on the postcard for a suicide note, that might work.  So, here’s a message to all Republicans in Congress – REPUBLICAN ESTABLISHMENT, HEAR THIS!  YOU HAVE SCREWED UP EVERY OTHER TRUMP PROPOSAL YOU HAVE TOUCHED.  YOU HAVE FAILED TO PASS ANYTHING THE PRESIDENT SUPPORTS, SO PLEASE, PLEASE, FAIL AGAIN.  IF YOU WON’T HELP ME, AT LEAST DON’T HURT ME.  Donald Trump is supposed to be a populist, so I’m channeling another populist from long ago, William Jennings Bryan.  To paraphrase “the Great Commoner,” Congress must defeat this tax proposal. You shall not press down upon the brow of the middle class this crown of thorns, you shall not crucify the middle class upon a cross of reconciliation.
