I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again.  If Democrats didn’t stand for hypocrisy, they would stand for nothing at all.  This maxim was prominently on display this week at the latest televised Donald Trump Bash-a Thon, known as the Golden Globe Awards.  The show was used as a platform for the #metoo movement, the hashtag being used by women to make sexual harassment complaints about men in the entertainment industry.  The Hollywood crowd is incredibly slow to take note of realities that are obvious to those of us in flyover country, mostly because, in their Hollywood bubble, they rarely experience reality.  They were oblivious to the Holocaust until Steven Spielberg made Schindler’s List.  Most of them never heard of World War II in general, or the Normandy invasion in particular, until Spielberg made Saving Private Ryan.  (Maybe Spielberg should make more historical pictures).  And until October of last year, when the deluge of sexual harassment complaints swamped Harvey Weinstein’s boat, the Hollywood phonies were sailing merrily along, oblivious to, or more likely, perfectly willing to overlook the fact that many Hollywood moguls demanded sex from aspiring actresses in return for advancing their careers.  And until Harvey Weinstein could no longer get them a part, or an Academy Award, too many actresses were perfectly willing to kiss his ring (and other revolting parts of him), and to keep quiet about it.  Now understand, I’m not defending Weinstein.  He’s a pig.  And I’m not denying or downplaying the physical and emotional damage done to the abused women of Hollywood, because it’s real.  What I take exception to is the disgraceful charade perpetrated on the American public by the left-wing Hollywood phonies on the Golden Globe show.  Here’s how screwed up these people are – Supposedly celebrating the fall of Harvey Weinstein and the end of sexual harassment in Hollywood, the women all appeared in black attire.  Black, of course, is the color of mourning, not celebration.  I guess they could be mourning their own stupidity.  For my money, the black dress deal falls a bit short on serious message when women complaining about being sexually objectified show up in black gowns that reveal near-naked breasts, and that are cut up to ass-crack level.

And then there was Oprah.  Oprah Winfrey was there to receive the Cecil B. DeMille award.  I wonder how many Hollywood dolts are aware that DeMille was a conservative Republican who was enlisted by the CIA to fight Communism.  If they find out they might want to change it to the Dalton Trumbo award.  Anyhow, Oprah gave a speech that resulted in calls for her to be the 2020 Democrat candidate for President, which is strange, since these same Hollywood nitwits recently bashed Republicans for nominating a TV personality for President. (They may be hypocrites, but at least they’re consistently hypocritical).  The leftist lapdog media jumped on the Oprah bandwagon, declaring her “unbeatable.” (Uh, you guys said the same thing about Hillary).  You have to admit, Oprah pushed all the right buttons.  She started out by praising Sidney Poitier’s black skin, and complaining about how her mother had to work hard cleaning other people’s houses.  Race and poverty- check, check.  Then she praised the media –  “I want to thank the Hollywood Foreign Press Association because we all know the press is under siege these days. “(I wonder from who?). “We also know it’s the insatiable dedication to uncovering the absolute truth that keeps us from turning a blind eye to corruption and to injustice. (Like they’ve been investigating Hillary’s crimes?).  So, bashed Trump, praised media – check, check.  Then she got to sexual harassment, “And I’m especially proud and inspired by all the women who have felt strong enough and empowered enough to speak up and share their personal stories.”  Women are victims, OK, check.  Now for the obligatory Jim Crow reference.  Oprah recounted the story of a horrendous crime (in 1944 Alabama), a woman raped by armed white men.  She got a quadruple-check on this one: “armed” (2d Amendment); “white” (race politics); “men” (gender politics), and “Alabama.”  Oprah did have a slight Freudian slip, though, when she said that, “The men who tried to destroy [the rape victim] were never persecuted.”  Maybe she meant to say “prosecuted,” but maybe not.  Oprah has expressed her desire for white folks to die in the past.  When she was plugging her movie, The Butler (which Harvey Weinstein produced for her) on MSNBC, Oprah said, “There are still generations of people, older people, who were born and bred and marinated in it, in that prejudice and racism.  And they just have to die.”  So, kill the white people – check.  Oprah issued this warning to harassers, “So I want all the girls watching here, now, to know that a new day is on the horizon!  And when that new day finally dawns, it will be because of a lot of magnificent women, many of whom are right here in this room tonight, and some pretty phenomenal men, fighting hard to make sure that they become the leaders who take us to the time when nobody ever has to say ‘Me too’ again.”  I thought the day already had dawned.  If not, when is it going to dawn?  And is Oprah the right person to proclaim the impending dawning?  Oprah was pretty close to Harvey Weinstein and some other noted woman abusers.

Are we to believe that it never dawned on Oprah that women were being abused in Hollywood?  No.  Oprah was well aware of the problem, “For too long, women have not been heard or believed if they dare speak the truth to the power of those men.  But their time is up.  Their time is up.” Now, Oprah is a billionaire.  Do you think for a minute that if she blew the whistle on the abusers on national TV, nobody would listen?  She never did.  Instead, she lectured America about what’s wrong with us, instead of concentrating on the root of the problem.  Hollywood has been a moral cesspool for 100 years.  Oprah – clean up your own house before telling us how to live.  Those of us outside Hollywood didn’t just discover the problem of sexual harassment last year.  But the truth is, Oprah would make a perfect Democrat candidate. – she’s all identity politics all the time.  Can’t wait for the first debate.

When they began the witch hunt in 2016, the goal of the Left (and some so-called Republicans) was to keep Donald Trump from being elected President.  After he shocked the world, their goal was to drive him from office.  Even before his inauguration, there were calls for impeachment.  MSNBC resistance fighters (formerly disguised as journalists) declared that the Trump/Russia “scandal” was “bigger than Watergate.”  (You have to forgive Leftists.  They only know how to say three things – It’s worse than Watergate – It’s worse than the great depression – and the rich don’t pay their fair share).  Now into the 3rd calendar year of investigations of Trump world, the Democrats are running out of hope that some evidence will surface to link Trump with Putin, the Russian government, any Russian official, a trolley car driver in Russia, somebody with a name that sounds Russian – anything!  It doesn’t matter though.  The Mueller investigation goes on, and he and his band of Hillary-lovers may yet find somebody wearing a red baseball hat who might yet lie to an FBI agent about something unconnected with the election.  As time goes by, however, all but the most delusional Democrats know the Russia investigation will come to nothing.  That’s why they’re constantly trying to goad Trump into firing Mueller.  “He better not fire Mueller” they say.  “Oh, if he fires Mueller, there will be a constitutional crisis.”  Trump keeps being asked, “You going to fire Mueller?”  He keeps saying, “No.”  Indeed, with unusual restraint, Trump, last week, even said, “I think Mueller will be fair.”  The point of this exercise is to find a reason – any reason – to impeach this President.  The passing of tax reform doesn’t matter.  A DOW over 25,000 doesn’t matter.  Millions of new jobs don’t matter.  The lowest unemployment rate, including black and Hispanic unemployment, at the lowest level in decades – they don’t care.  Trump must be removed.  Meanwhile, the folks at Circa News, Judicial Watch and Congressional investigators are beginning to unravel the twisted, corrupt, dirty, underhanded and illegal activities of Hillary Clinton, her campaign team, and even more alarmingly, those of the FBI, the Justice Department, and yes – dare I say it – Obama himself.  It’s worse than Watergate?  Sure.  They say that the coverup is worse than the crime.  In Watergate, the crime was a burglary, and the coverup was worse.  In the case of the Trump investigation, there is no underlying crime, but we’ll overlook that point.  (Which is hard to do, because if there wasn’t a crime, it’s unclear what there might be to coverup.  But no matter).  As it turns out though, there is a coverup in this case, it’s just that it’s not Trump who’s doing the covering.  The evidence uncovered by Circa News, Judicial Watch and the Congress has proven that Hillary, Inc., a/k/a, the Clinton Crime Family, bought a bogus dossier from British and Russian intelligence sources, that’s right, Russian intelligence sources that falsely tied Trump to Russians.  That lying dossier seems to have been delivered to the Justice Dept., perhaps by the wife of the Justice official whose job it was (he’s now been demoted) to get FISA court warrants for surveillance.  We know Justice got warrants and conducted surveillance on Trump employees before and after the election.  That means that the Democrats contrived to use national security to spy on the Republican presidential candidate.  The guys at the FBI pitched in.  Peter Strozk wrote emails talking about getting an “insurance policy” to stop Trump.  Then the FBI gave Hillary “special treatment” when they investigated her email server scandal.  James Comey?  Well, he simply has a Messiah complex.  He envisions himself as the one true light of the world.  All he needs is a cross and a crown of thorns and he’s in business.  Obama had to approve all this nonsense, so he’s in this up to his skinny Socialist neck.  Justice and the FBI went along because Hillary was going to win anyway, and these crimes would never come to light.  Then, oh shit!  Trump won, and the coverup began.  Not by Trump, by Justice and the FBI.  With Trump as Chief Executive, it was only a matter of time before the truth leaked out.  The only way to avoid it was to sink Trump before the truth leaked.  They tried.  The FBI has been defying Congressional inquiries for months, and just yesterday were supposed to deliver requested information after being threatened with a contempt citation.  It recently was confirmed that numerous classified emails were found on Huma Abedin’s private laptop, the one she shared with pervert husband Carlos Danger.  Anybody else would be in jail, but Hillary got “special treatment,” which included being cleared before she was interviewed.  Mueller is the former FBI Director.  He doesn’t want the FBI to be embarrassed.  Mueller was chosen by Rod Rosenstein from Justice.  Rosenstein was there when Justice did its dirty deals on Trump.  He doesn’t want Justice, or himself, splattered when the truth hits the fan.  The Democrats are afflicted with Trump derangement syndrome.  They were willing to corrupt the U.S. justice system and the rule of law, and destroy all confidence in the Justice Dept. and the FBI to get Hillary elected.  She lost, so now they are willing to throw Hillary and Bill, Harvey Weinstein and Al Franken under the bus to get Trump.  They are willing to rip up the Constitution and to destroy the oldest democracy on the face of the Earth to get Trump, and a large segment of our government is willing to participate in a coup to deny a duly elected President the office that he won despite their illegal efforts during the campaign.  So it’s true, the coverup is worse than the crime.  The FBI, Justice and Mueller are the cover-upers, and Donald Trump and the American people are the victims.

In the Chinese calendar, 2017 was the Year of the Rooster.  Actually, it was the Year of the Fire Rooster.  In the political calendar, 2017 will go down as the Year of Collusion.  Even before election night 2016 ended, there were rumblings about Russian collusion in the presidential campaign.  Then, faced with the prospect of a President Donald Trump, James Comey (born in 1960, fittingly in the Year of the Rat), selectively leaked his private memoranda, by his own admission, to induce the appointment of a special prosecutor to investigate all things Trump, under the guise of an investigation into Russian interference in the election.  Now, the FBI had been investigating alleged Russian collusion at least since June of 2016, and had found no link between Trump and any Russians.  After about 9 months of  effort by special counsel Robert Mueller, and his merry band of Hillary loving prosecutors, there is still no link of Trump with Russians.  Sure, they indicted Paul Manafort and another guy for things that happened 10 years before Trump decided to run for office.  Sure, they trapped General Flynn into a half-assed misstatement so they could charge him with a Martha Stewart offense.  That’s it.  And yet on and on it goes.  When Mueller was appointed, many people questioned how Mueller, a close friend and former law partner of Comey, could ethically run an investigation when Comey is an essential witness therein.  It was bad enough before we began learning of the utter corruption of the FBI and large portions of the Justice Department.  It was bad enough before it came to light that there really was Russian collusion that no investigator seems willing to investigate.  It now is crystal clear that Hillary Clinton’s campaign paid millions of dollars for a phony intelligence dossier on Trump.  The payments were laundered through campaign lawyer Mark Elias, but what it amounts to is the first actual crime that took place in the 2016 election.  Namely, Hillary paid intelligence sources from two foreign countries, Great Britain and Russia, that’s right Russia, for a pack of lies.  The Democrats, of course, don’t see it that way.  It was just opposition research, they say, and here’s the thing- if that was the only thing the dossier was used for, they might have a point (assuming paying foreigners to influence the U.S. election isn’t a crime).  But, we now know that the dossier, that came into the hands of James Comey, likely directly from the Hillary campaign, was used for much more than just opposition research.  You see, the dossier came from Fusion, GPS.  The wife of the Justice Dept. lawyer responsible for getting FISA Court surveillance warrants worked for Fusion.  A coincidence; not likely.  Congressional Committees have been asking various FBI witnesses for weeks whether the Fusion dossier was the “evidence” used to get the FISA warrants that permitted the Obama Justice Department to conduct electronic surveillance on the Trump campaign and transition.  As this is written, no FBI witness has provided an answer, and repeated demands to see the evidence presented to the FISA Court have been ignored.  If the answer was “NO,” one would think we would have had a denial from the FBI long ago.  So we are left with a nightmare scenario in which the Democrats paid an ex-British spy to concoct a dossier, reportedly written by intelligence sources in Russia, the FBI took it from the Democratic candidate, failed to verify anything in the dossier, and then used it to get court orders that permitted Obama operatives in the Justice Dept., the FBI, and various intelligence agencies to spy on the campaign and the transition team of the Republican candidate/President, and the Republican President is the person who is under investigation.  On top of this insanity, we have 95% of the media cheering on the Trump witch hunt, and totally uninterested in the truth, which is that the agencies on which we rely for impartial justice are corrupt and can no longer be trusted.  (More about this next week).  And thus ends the Year of Collusion.  We can only hope that 2018 is the Year of the Truth.

Having ripped off The 12 Days of Christmas, and given the time of year, it’s only fitting that I also rip off Clement Moore’s A Visit From St. Nicholas.  So here are the final two stanzas of A Visit From The Donald:

And sending a Tweet, kept the Libs on their toes;

With apology to 1930’s songwriters Mitchell Parish and Frank Perkins:   “We lived our little drama, we endured the electoral fight, when the Pols fell on Alabama Tuesday night.”  Yes, the Alabama special Senatorial election is finally over, and Democrat Doug Jones came out the winner.  The media is ecstatic, busy pushing the Alabama election as a sea change which presages a Democrat wave in 2018.  Dream on.  Here’s what really happened.  Jeff Sessions resigned his seat to become Attorney General.  The Governor of Alabama appointed Luther Strange to fill the seat, pending August primaries for a special election to be held December 12.  Now, Alabama went for Trump by 28% last year, and no Democrat had been elected Statewide in years, so the Republican primary was key.  A number of Republicans ran for the seat, among them, Congressman Mo Brooks, a Freedom Caucus member with an impeccable conservative record.  Brooks would have been an ideal candidate for the general election, but for one problem.  Luther Strange had pledged his fealty to Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, and promised to vote to retain McConnell as Leader.  Brooks refused to make such a promise.  Brooks refused to be a McConnell lap dog.  Instead, Brooks threatened to adhere to his principles, and to put the citizens’ interests above those of politicians and lobbyists.  The Establishment swamp creatures couldn’t take that chance, so McConnell stuck his nose, and presumably, his enormous neck wattle, into the Alabama primary race.  With something like 14 candidates in the primary, it was likely that no one would get over 50%, triggering a runoff.  McConnell decided that the “smart” thing to do was to put millions of dollars into the race, not to support Strange, but to knock out Mo Brooks, whom he rightly identified as the greatest threat in a 2 person runoff.  McConnell succeeded in crippling Brooks, who finished third.  However, Big Luther Strange finished second to Judge Roy Moore.  McConnell poured money into Alabama for the runoff.  He even got the President, then playing ball with McConnell to get his agenda enacted, to go to Alabama to support Big Luther.  It didn’t work.  Despite Mitch McConnell and all his “smart” money, the Alabama voters chose Roy Moore by a 12% margin.  Picture that.  Instead of the sitting Senator, supported by the RNC, and endorsed by the President, the voters chose the former Alabama Chief Justice, who was twice removed from that office, for refusing to remove a 10 Commandments monument from the courthouse lawn, and refusing to enforce federal court orders on gay marriage.  A guy who spends most of his time riding around on a horse, wearing a cowboy hat.  Whew!  Good job Mitch!  So, having gone all in on Big Luther to pervert the electoral process, McConnell pulled all support from Alabama.  Then the Washington Post got into the act.  The New York Times used to advertise its Want Ads with the motto, “I got my job through the New York Times.”  Doug Jones’ motto ought to be, “I got my job through the Washington Post.”  The Post dug up a woman who claimed that when she was 14, 38 years ago, Moore inappropriately touched her.  He denied it.  Then another woman came  forward (or was pushed by lawyer Gloria All—–), with a 40 year old claim that Moore tried to date her as a teenager.  Moore said he didn’t know her.  But she had a yearbook inscribed by Moore, or so she claimed.  Moore demanded forensic testing on the book.  No one understood why her lawyer refused to permit the test until the woman admitted the signature was forged.  No, no, the media told us, it’s only “partially forged.”  Children, take it from my years of legal experience, when part of your evidence is forged, all of it is tainted.  Even Gloria All—– has heard the legal term “false in one, false in all.”  It didn’t stop the continual drumbeat in Alabama.  Let’s face it, Roy Moore was a certifiable kook to begin with, but being denounced every day as a pedophile starting a month from the election is bound to hamper any candidate, even an Alabama Republican.  Democrat Doug Jones is a decided leftist, a real drawback in Alabama, but then again Moore was never an overwhelmingly popular candidate.  He had run for Governor twice, and lost.  When he was elected Chief Justice, he garnered only 52% of the vote, that’s 52% without being an accused child molester.  On top of that, Moore, not only got no support from the RNC, senior Senator Richard Shelby urged Alabama Republicans to write-in “a distinguished Republican” rather than vote for Moore.   Almost 23,000 Alabamans took Shelby’s advice.  Jones beat Moore by 20,715 votes.  Do the math.  At the end of the day, what the Left is casting as the harbinger of a Democrat wave is the victory of a Democrat who got to run in a special election against a whacky, unpopular Republican who even Republicans didn’t support, who never discussed any issue of interest to the electorate, who took a vacation the weekend before the election, and who was denounced 24 hours a day, by both sides, as a child molester.  And with all these advantages, Doug Jones managed to reduce Moore’s Statewide numbers from 52% to 48.4%.  Jones didn’t even reach 50% himself.  So, congratulations Senator Jones.  Enjoy your 2 years in the Senate, because come 2020, you are history.  Yes, Doug, you will go the way of Nicholas Brady.  Who?  Oh, he was a temporary Senator from New Jersey; just until the next election.  Nobody remembers him either.  And what of the loss of a safe Senate seat, reducing the Republican margin to 51-49?  In my judgment, the loss of the seat is worth not having to endure the continual sex abuser side show that was planned for Moore.  You see,  the Dems didn’t care about Moore.  They were using his allegations as a wedge to get at Trump.  That’s why they threw Bill Clinton, Al Franken and John Conyers under the bus.  They’ve cleared the field to replay the Trump allegations.  They’ve trotted out the same women who made complaints before the election.  Their Trump Derangement Syndrome has them eating their own to go after the President.  They’ll stop at nothing.
