FRANK ON FRIDAY – Theater of the Absurd

In a desperate attempt to breathe life into their brain-dead Party, House Democrats this week began their farcical January 6th investigation.  They had to do something.  They’ve got a corrupt demented imbecile President.  Instead of leading the nation, Old Joe’s being led from appearance to appearance, embarrassing himself and the country at every stop.   Joe’s son Hunter Biden is back in the news, where there’s been actual coverage of his laptop scandal, which was ignored during the election campaign.  The recent attention no doubt stems from Hunter’s latest antics.  I mean, if there are photos of you smoking crack, recordings where you admit to paying kickbacks to a public official (that would be Sleepy Joe, a/k/a “the Big Guy”), evidence of bribes from foreign officials (remember Ukraine anyone?), evidence of illegal gun possession, and you’re still being paid by a Ukranian company to do nothing, it might not be the best time to dabble in the art world.  But being a Democrat means never having to say you’re crooked, so Hunter has embarked on a new career, painting pictures, which he then sells to anonymous buyers for $75,000 to $500,000 apiece.  No, they’re not anonymous to him, the public’s just not allowed to know who’s paying all that money. It’s a fair bet they’re not art aficionados, as a Maryland art professor pegs the true value of the works at no more than $3,000.  Now, a suspicious person might think that, after being caught on tape admitting that he has to split his income with his father, who just happens to be the President of the United States, and because he won’t reveal who’s paying the money, and because the prices are exorbitant, there ought to be an investigation into what looks like a massive payoff scheme.  After all, Democrats leave no stone unturned to ferret out crime –  they just indicted a guy who worked for Trump because he had a company car.  But Hunter has nothing to fear.  Some pigs are more equal than others.  Hunter Biden aside, we have a lagging economy, run-away inflation, a resurgent Wuhan strain, the prospect of new lockdowns, parents fighting critical race theory, a broken Southern border, continual cyber-hacking which has caused Joe Biden to threaten “a real shooting war” with Russia, and a new poll showing voter optimism down 20%.  So this is the perfect time for Democrat Theater of the Absurd, via the House January 6th committee.  This is the committee that we were told was to be bipartisan, and it is, by Democrat standards.  Remember, the Democrat definition of “bipartisan” is “We tell Republicans what to do, and they do it.”  See?  Bipartisan.

There are 13 members on the committee.  The original plan for 7 Democrats and 6 Republicans didn’t work out, so it wound up 11 Democrats and 2 psuedo-Democrats.  Republicans Jim  Jordan and Jim Banks were rejected by Nancy Pelosi because they threatened to investigate the entire January 6th incident, including the failures of Speaker Pelosi.  Nancy had other ideas –

No problem though, Nancy replaced Jordan and Banks with the perfect substitutes, Liz Cheney and Adam Kinzinger, a couple of RINOs from the Quisling wing of the Republican Party, both of whom voted to impeach Donald Trump.  Don’t you just love a fair trial?  The whole committee is a sad joke.  It’s tasked to investigate an “insurrection” that never took place.  According to actual case law, insurrection means “a violent uprising by a group or movement acting for the specific purpose of overthrowing the constituted government and seizing its powers.  An insurrection occurs where a movement acts to overthrow the constituted government and to take possession of its inherent powers.”  There have been recent examples of insurrection.  In Seattle, violent revolutionaries seized part of the city and set up their own government in the “CHOP” zone.  In Portland, police stations were burned and the federal courthouse was attacked.  Democrats were unconcerned.  None of that sort of thing happened on January 6th.  What happened at the Capitol wasn’t even much of a riot, as measured against the 2020 BLM and Antifa riots, featuring looting, arson an assaults with deadly weapons, which the media told us were “mostly peaceful.”  Crimes were committed on January 6th, to be sure.  There was some trespassing and petty theft.  It’s right that these activities should be prosecuted.  It’s not right that petty criminal suspects have been held in jail for seven months without trial.  None has been charged with insurrection because no insurrection took place.  Try them, fine them, and move on.  But wait, you say there’s a two tiered system of justice, that permits a nation-wide search for and persecution of trespassers, while violent BLM and Antifa criminals go unpunished?  You say it’s unfair that trespassers, none of whom was armed, and who did no violence, are held in solitary confinement, while looters and arsonists who showered police officers with bricks walk free.  You say the only violence perpetrated on January 6th was by an unidentified police officer who shot and killed an unarmed woman?  What are you, a white supremecist?  Really, if you’ve just noticed that Democrats are a bunch of lying, cheating, stealing, hypocritical bastards, then you haven’t been paying attention.  But the January 6th committee is vital.  It’s going to discover what happened, so that it never happens again.  Let me save them the trouble.  When, a week before the incident, the President of the United States warns you that a big crowd of protesters could be trouble, and offers you 10,000 armed troops to make sure the peace will be kept, just say “thank you, send them over.”  When the Chief of the Capitol Police tells Speaker of the House, Polident Princess Pelosi, he didn’t have enough officers on January 6th, after refusing offers of help from the Pentagon and the FBI, maybe that’s what Kamala Harris might call “the root cause” of the problem.  We live in a world run by a schizophrenic Democrat Party.  It opposes pre-trial detention for violent criminals, yet condones the jailing of political protesters it doesn’t like.  It supports laws decriminalizing shoplifting, yet is silent when stores are forced to close, and clerks are fired and even killed for daring to stop thefts.  It hails socialist/Marxist riots as mostly peaceful exercises of First Amendment rights, yet condemns conservative protest as insurrection.  And worst of all, it weaponizes law enforcement to destroy its political opponents. The January 6th committee farce is nothing more than a dishonest attempt by dishonest people to prove you can fool all of the people all of the time.  Just say no.

FRANK ON FRIDAY – Existential Threats

I have to congratulate the Biden Administration for adding one more inane talking point to the chronically pointless Democrat mantra.  For 50 years or more, the Democrat Party has existed without any real plan or program, but by constantly repeating the same three lies: “It’s the worst economy since the great depression;” “It’ll be another Vietnam;” and last but certainly least, “It’s time the rich pay their fair share.”  These slogans have enabled even the dumbest of dumb bastard Democrats (Biden comes to mind), to masquerade as public servants.  They simply stand up, mutter one or more of the lies, and the lap dog media pretends that they’ve exposed some profound truth.  Of course, the truth lies elsewhere.  The Democrats inherited a two year old depression in 1932, and their programs extended it to 1942, when a world war brought full employment.  As for Vietnam, two Democrats sent 2.7 million troops to Vietnam.  In 1968, the last year Democrats were in charge, 16,899 men were killed.  Richard Nixon reduced the casualties to 69 deaths in 1973, and Democrats smeared him as a war-monger.  As for fair shares, people making over $550,000 (top 1%) pay 27% of all taxes; those making $150,000 and up (top 10%) pay 71% of all taxes.  People with taxable incomes of $87,000 or less pay less than 3% of all taxes.  Case closed.  But back to Biden, because right now, there’s no place else to go.  The latest Democrat talking point (a/k/a “lie”) comes from Corrupt Demented Imbecile Joe, by way of the actual President of the United States, Susan Rice.  Any State law which tries to ensure vote security, say by ensuring that the voter is a citizen, or at least a resident of the voting district is, get ready for it – “the greatest threat to democracy since the Civil War.”  And it must be true, because after Old Joe slurred it out, the head of his Ministry of Truth, Jen Psaki, repeated it.  What’s more, after she said it, Facebook and Twitter didn’t cancel her, so it must be true.  Permitting weeks of early voting, increasing the number of polling stations, counting ballots that arrive after election day, permitting “no excuse” mail voting only after checking to see that the voter actually exists and lives in the district, is a threat right up there with the civil war.  That’s pretty bad.  Of course, after the Civil War, Democrats terrorized, beat and murdered black folks in the South who wanted to vote, but this is worse than that.  Democrats enacted and enforced all the Jim Crow laws they now complain about, but this is worse.  The threat posed by Fascism in the 1940’s might have resulted in millions of dead Americans, but this is worse.  After WWII, black veterans who tried to vote in the South were murdered by Democrats who wanted to discourage that sort of thing, but this is worse.  All I can say is, while I try not to underestimate how low Democrats are willing to stoop to stay in power, this is worse.  And sadly, while I used to think that Americans couldn’t be stupid enough to believe such bullcrap, now I’m not so sure.  Maybe the Progressive brainwashing academies we call schools are having an effect.  How else to explain how often Democrats are willing to pretend that nearly everything they oppose is an “existential threat to democracy?” Millions fought for basic civil rights, and Dr. Martin Luther King gave his life to bring about a day when we would teach, and when Americans would embrace, the principle that no one race was superior to another.  We got there, but now Democrats say failing to teach Critical Race Theory, which teaches that the races are not equal, is an existential threat to democracy.  I guess, to paraphrase Slick Willie Clinton, it depends what your definition of “democracy” is.  Maybe it’s because we don’t have a pure democracy, but a representative democracy.  We send our representatives to the Legislatures where they vote.  Only that can’t be right, because when the Texas Democrats deserted their offices to prevent a democratic vote, Democrats told us they only did it to protect “democracy.”  Curiouser and curiouser.  There’s no real evidence that Man is causing temperatures to increase, but the Left swears that “climate change” is an “existential threat,” the only solution for which is more government.  More than 8,000 African-Americans are killed each year by other African-Americans.  Gun play is all too common in our cities, but the Left tells us no one should be arrested or held on bail, theft is no longer a crime, drug use should be legalized, and the police, who wrongfully kill less than 10 African-Americans a year, are an existential threat to democracy.  I can think of some real existential threats.  Jen Psaki admitted this week that the Administration notifies platforms like Facebook and Twitter of what it considers “misinformation” in postings, so the platforms can remove it.  When any government representative, from any Party is permitted to dictate the content of acceptable speech, that violates the First Amendment, and really is an existential threat to democracy.  When the content of speech is dictated by a Fascist Democrat, it spells the death of democracy.  When our representatives are Hell-bent on spending us into oblivion by appropriating trillions of non-existent dollars to be pissed away, that’s an existential threat to democracy.  Consider what we’ve come to.  In the 1960’s,  Democrats in the U.S. Senate would not permit Democrat Lyndon Johnson to have a tax cut until he proved to them that government spending would be cut.  During the 2008 financial crisis, the Treasury didn’t dare ask Congress for $1 trillion in bail-out money because that figure was too outrageous to be considered.  Right now, Democrats in the Senate say a $1.2 trillion infra-structure plan Republicans will support is much too small, but they’re anxious to pass it, because it’s holding up the $3.6 trillion Bill they’re planning to pass next.  I’ll close with this.  There was a time when elected officials from both Parties put the long-term welfare of America above petty politics.  When our representatives are unable to perceive anything beyond the date of the next election, that’s an existential threat to our nation.  If they don’t smarten up, we’ll have no nation.

FRANK ON FRIDAY – The Unwelcome Aliens

Well, it’s finally happened.  The Biden Administration finally has found a group of foreigners that it doesn’t want to let into our country.  These are people who really are at risk of starvation, imprisonment or death at the hands of their government, all risks which would make them legitimate candidates for political asylum.  But the Biden crowd wants no part of them.  These people aren’t looking for a handout.  They love America so much they even proudly wave American flags.  They don’t want to come here to tell us America sucks and we have change to suit them.  Indeed, they really don’t want to come here at all.  All they want from their government are the things we take for granted.  A little liberty, an opportunity to make a living, and the freedom to speak their minds.  But now that I think about it, those things are becoming harder to get right here.  I’m speaking, of course, of the courageous Cubans who took to the streets this week to protest their government’s repression.  Last Sunday, Cuban protestors all over the island, some carrying American flags, marched through the streets chanting  “freedom,” “liberty,” “no tenemos miedo,” meaning “we are not afraid,” and “Down with Communism!” They also chanted, “Patria y Vida” – “Homeland and Life,”  a variation on murdering S.O.B. Che Guevara’s  revolutionary slogan, “Homeland or Death.”  The marchers protested severe food and medicine shortages. “Our people are dying of hunger.  We are dying of hunger,” one protestor cried.  The marchers called for the resignation of President Miguel Díaz-Canel.  Diaz-Canel reacted as any communist dictator would, or now that I think about it, as Maxine Waters, Facebook and Twitter would, by cutting off all internet access, calling for civil war, and urging civilians to violently attack anyone participating in protests.  “This is why we are calling all the revolutionaries of our country, all the communists, to go to the streets anywhere that these provocations are happening today.”  Putting aside the wisdom of a government, which has been in power for 62 years, calling for a civil war in its own country, this once again proves Mao’s maxim, that Communist political power grows out of the barrel of a gun.  Diaz-Canel’s hit men didn’t disappoint.  Cuban “state security agents” fired live rounds into crowds and beat protesters with baseball bats.  According to the Cuban pro-democracy group “Cuba Decide,” more than 100 people connected to the protests have disappeared since they began. Catholic priest, Father Castor José Álvarez Devesa, who advocates for the end of authoritarianism in Cuba, and who authored a 2018 letter to Raúl Castro seeking free elections, was beaten bloody, dragged through the streets, and his whereabouts are unknown.  One protester told a journalist, “In my neighborhood they have already taken away two young people and I am waiting for them to come get me since I was at the protests.”  Sounds like one of the January 6th trespassers waiting for the arrival of the FBI.  Cuban police also attacked journalists.  The face of Associated Press photographer Ramón Espinosa was broken and bloodied.  Other international photographers documented Espinosa’s gang beating.  One would think such blatant police brutality might induce a journalistic reaction.  It has.  CBS News has laid the blame right where it belongs, on Donald Trump.  Parroting the propaganda of Diaz-Canel, CBS blamed the U.S., and Trump in particular, because of the embargo that has existed since 1962.  Democrats regularly call for an end to all Cuban sanctions.  In its excuse for communism, The New York Times, characterized protesters’ calls for “freedom,” “liberty,” and “democracy,” as “anti-government slogans.”  One would think that, having concluded that the Cuban government opposes freedom, liberty and democracy, The Times might lend support to the protests.  It won’t.  Maybe that’s because they object to Cuban protesters who respect the American flag, instead of burning it, like any good progressive.  After all, it was Times editorial board member Mara Gay who claimed that seeing American flags on pickup trucks ‘disturbed’ her. Gay blamed ‘whiteness’ for the flags, and said Americans would continue to observe such uncouth behavior until whites were ready to surrender to black radicals.  She said that those who fly the flag have a racist message, and that white people need to separate whiteness from Americanism.  Huh?  Gay isn’t alone.  The Utah chapter of Black Lives Matter said, “When we Black Americans see this flag we know the person flying it is not safe to be around; we know the person flying it is a racist; we know that the person flying it lives in a different America than we do.  When we see this flag, we question your intelligence.  We know to avoid you.  It is a symbol of hatred.”  President Diaz-Canel would be so proud.  It’s not surprising though, BLM leaders are Marxists, just like he is.  The response from the Biden Administration was equally inane.  A Corrupt Demented Imbecile Joe Biden spokeswoman said, the protests weren’t over political oppression, but rather “concern about rising COVID cases, deaths, and medicine shortages.”  Kamala Harris is always looking for the root cause of problems, maybe Biden should send her and Fauci down there with a box of masks.   A State Department spokesperson named Chung said that the Cuban people were “exercising their right to peaceful assembly.”  Senator Ted Cruz had to remind Chung that communist governments don’t permit  such a right.  The Cuban protests are clear and convincing evidence that too many Americans simply don’t appreciate the freedoms that exist in America, and nowhere else in the world.  What’s more, morons like socialist celebrities, and young people who advocate for socialism and communism in America, simply don’t understand how quickly the freedoms they take for granted may disappear forever.  And we can’t blame the kids, when they see examples like the entire Democrat delegation of the Texas Assembly abandon their offices to avoid having to vote on an election reform bill.  They took a private plane (maskless) to Washington, D.C. to hide out with their Leftist comrades.  I’m waiting for Quasi-Pelosi to ring a bell in the Capitol Dome, and start yelling, “Sanctuary!”  I don’t ever want to hear another Democrat lecture us on threats to democracy, after Texas Democrats abandoned their democracy.  Kids, you don”t have to listen to me.  Heed the words of Joni Mitchell, “Don’t it always seem to go, that you don’t know what you’ve got ’til it’s gone?”  Cubans understand this principle all too well.

For decades, they have risked their lives to escape the very system that our Left has embraced.  We should be aiding the protesters.  Cuban President Diaz-Canel has pledged that the protesters will destroy the revolution “over our dead body.”  From his lips to God’s ears.

FRANK ON FRIDAY – Defund the Government

The crazies among us, all of whom happen to belong to the misnamed “Democratic Party,” have been on a defunding kick.  While riots ran riot all over America, these kooks, led by the members of The Squad, AOC and her Commie comrades, put forth proposals to defund the police.  This nonsense was prompted by the death of career criminal and crime victim George Floyd in Minnesota.  Floyd, who had a history including an armed home invasion, during which he held a pregnant woman at gunpoint, told police “I ate too many drugs.”  He famously said, “I can’t breathe,” which was not surprising, as Floyd, who suffered from heart disease, had ingested marijuana, crystal meth and a fatal dose of fentanyl.  Rather than simply taking Floyd to a hospital, we saw what the cop did, so Floyd’s death was a homicide.  George Floyd became an unlikely martyr, with murals and statues popping up everywhere people have an axe to grind.  The Squad (or is it Squat?) proposed a remedy – defund the police.  135 Democrats have sponsored a bill.  Because George Floyd said, “I can’t breathe,” it’s called, The BREATHE Act.  That’s catchy, but I understand that lung function improves when you don’t overdose on fentanyl, a drug used during surgery that stops your breathing.  Anyhow, The BREATHE Act will slash federal funds to local police and federal agencies, and spend the money on social welfare, health care, education, environmental programs, and reparations for African-Americans.  It cancels grant programs that fund local police and provide equipment.  It also defunds ICE and the DEA, and prohibits the use of ankle monitors and Gang databases.  This makes sense.  No need to identify the people most likely to shoot you dead, and since we let them all out of jail, no reason to keep track of who might be climbing in your window right now.  Personally, I’m with Senator Kennedy of Louisiana, “Next time someone’s breaking into your house, don’t call a cop, call a crackhead.”  One Squad member, AOC acolyte Jamaal Bowman, even proposed taking guns away from the police, as he thinks they are too dangerous to be permitted to go about armed.  Of course, he only wants to take guns from the police that protect you.  He has armed officers guarding his house.  That’s how it works in a totalitarian dictatorship.  They take guns away from law-abiding people, while the leaders stay safe behind barbed wire.  But not to worry.  According to public safety experts such as Chicago Mayor Lightfoot, although 108 people, including 12 children, were shot in her city over the July 4th holiday, crime actually is down.  I guess they’re running out of people to shoot.  And it really doesn’t matter.  Since the news no longer is what happened, but what they say happened, as long as they say crime is down, it’s down.  When you think of it, defunding the police makes sense.  If we’re not going to arrest or prosecute criminals, then why pay all those cops all that money?  Not sick yet?  Squad member Rashida Tlaib also wants to defund the Department of Homeland Security.  Does that mean we’ll no longer have to take our shoes off at the airport?  This actually is a good idea. If DHS let her family into the country, what good are they?  So what if the first duty of government is to protect its citizens?  So what if the fallout means that tourists and businesses won’t return to the cities, and their tax bases disappear?  We’ve always got Uncle Sucker in Washington to spread around the graft, uh, I mean stimulus.  Am I the only one who’s wondering how New Jersey, a State in a perpetual state of near bankruptcy, this year wound up with a more than $10 billion surplus?  In boom years, New Jersey had budget deficits.  After a year during which little work was done, they have a surplus?  The money came from the federal government, which itself ran a $3.1 trillion deficit last year.  Since January, Corrupt Demented Imbecile Joe Biden has spent another $2 trillion we don’t have, on stimulus we don’t need, and he’s currently holding out for an additional $6 trillion spending bill.  No one, especially no one in the Democrat Party, seems to be concerned about a national debt which now tops $28 trillion.  Let’s put it in perspective.  The debt exceeded $1 trillion for the first time in 1982.  I’m old enough to remember Democrats, some of them still in office, who were shocked, shocked at the size of such a debt.  Spoiler alert.  Ronald Reagan was President, there was a $250 billion budget deficit, and Democrats found that number to be unconscionable and ruinous.  Then, as now, they blamed tax cuts.  Here’s the truth.  By dropping the top tax rate from 70% to 28%, federal tax revenue doubled during the Reagan years.  They had a deficit because, although they had an additional $500 billion to spend, they spent an additional $750 billion.  Bill Clinton fixed it.  He raised taxes on the hated rich.  The result?  The national debt went up to $5.8 trillion, 55% of GDP.  When Il Duce Obama arrived, the debt was $10 trillion, and in the financial crisis of 2008 rose to 68% of GDP.  It took 28 years for the debt to go from $1 to $10 trillion.  Obama managed to nearly double the debt in 8 years.  He increased the debt to more than 100% of GDP, for the first time since World War II.  Democrats who were appalled at a $250 billion Republican deficit thought nothing of annual Obama deficits over $1 trillion.  Last year’s Wuhan deficit was over $3 trillion.  With the Wuhan gone, Biden is sure to beat that this year.  What’s troubling is that not many Republicans are sounding the alarm on this reckless spending.  The 2020 deficit was 129% of GDP.  That’s unsustainable, and sadly, that’s their plan.  It’s the John Blutarski, Animal House, economic system, “Have some money.  It don’t cost nothing!” The plan is to keep sending people supposedly free money; but money, much like lunch, isn’t free.  They plan to create a financial crisis, and then, because of the crisis, which will be the fault of the rich, raise taxes through the roof and take the rest of your liberty.  Here’s my solution.  While we’re in a defunding mood, let’s defund the government.  Let’s stop spending money we haven’t got .

FRANK ON FRIDAY – Freedom of Suppress

Louis Brandeis was a giant of the law.  An ardent fighter for civil rights, Brandeis was the first Jewish member of the U.S. Supreme Court, where he served from 1919 to 1939.  He was an unflagging advocate of free speech, and his writings are among the best known and most quoted.  Here are some notable Brandeis quotes.  “If you would only recognize that life is hard, things would be so much easier for you.”  “Behind every argument is someone’s ignorance.”  “Sunshine is the best disinfectant.”  On the issue of free speech Brandeis was without peer.  “In the frank expression of conflicting opinion lies the greatest promise of wisdom in governmental action, and in suppression lies ordinarily the greatest peril.” Perhaps his most famous writing on free speech came in his 1927 opinion in Whitney v. California, “Fear of serious injury cannot alone justify suppression of free speech and assembly. Men feared witches and burnt women.  It is the function of speech to free men from the bondage of irrational fears.  To justify suppression of free speech, there must be reasonable ground to fear that serious evil will result if free speech is practiced.  There must be reasonable ground to believe that the danger apprehended is imminent.  There must be reasonable ground to believe that the evil to be prevented is a serious one.”  Brandeis created what has become known as “the counter-speech doctrine,” “If there be time to expose through discussion the falsehood and fallacies, to avert the evil by the processes of education, the remedy to be applied is more speech, not enforced silence.  Only an emergency can justify repression.”  This model, of universities as centers for debate and discussion long prevailed.  Chief Justice Earl Warren issued a ringing endorsement of academic freedom, “The essentiality of freedom in the community of American universities is almost self-evident.  Scholarship cannot flourish in an atmosphere of suspicion and distrust.”  Sadly, the advent of Progressive/Woke idiocy and the cancel culture has polluted the free and fresh atmosphere of the college campus.  Speech codes abound on campus, and that spinning sound you hear is coming from Louis Brandeis’ grave, because Brandeis University, named for that champion of free speech, has issued what it calls its “Oppressive Language List,” which seeks to replace ordinary words with words more acceptable to fragile snowflakes.  To paraphrase Macbeth, the Brandeis List is a tale told by an idiot, full of meaningless pablum, signifying nothing.  Here are some of the lowlights.  The word “picnic” is unacceptable, having been associated with lynchings of Black people, during which white spectators were said to have watched while eating.  Brandeis suggests “outdoor eating” instead.  Really?  Even if this is true, would anybody know it if Brandeis hadn’t printed it?  And why doesn’t “outdoor eating” invoke the same image?  You’d think the objectionable word would be “lynching,” but strangely, that word’s not on the List.  I guess it’s part of the cultural divide, when I think of picnickers watching people being killed I’m reminded of the white folks (“folks” is acceptable, see below)  who picnicked at the first Battle of Bull Run, and got to watch other white folks kill one another in an effort to end slavery.  “Trigger warning” is  also out, because the word “trigger” has connections to guns for many people.  This one’s understandable.  When they think of guns, they think of the Second Amendment to the Constitution, and remember that they hate the Constitution. Strangely, when I hear “trigger” I only think of Roy Rogers’ horse.  The term “off the reservation” is disapproved.  Brandeis suggests “disagree with the group” or “defect from the group.”  This one is a mixed bag.  If Indians leave the reservation, they’re no longer under the control of Great White Father.  On the other hand,  the word “defect” itself is problematic.  Communists defect to the U.S., which might give some the impression that America isn’t the oppressive Hellhole snowflakes have been taught to believe it is.  One shouldn’t say, “you guys,” “ladies and gentlemen,” or even  “she” or “he,” as these words perpetuate the notion that there are only two genders.  Thus, when Lou Costello said, “Ma’am/Sir, you gotta be one or the other” he was wrong.  Brandeis prefers gender inclusive language such as “Y’all,” “folks” or “folx.”  This is a tough one.  “Y’all” sounds like something a Trump supporter might say, so that can’t be soothing.  “Folks” I get.  Il Duce Obama always said “folks” so it’s OK.  “Folx” on the other hand is a word I’ve never heard, and it seemingly runs afoul of the List’s own prohibition on the use of broken English.  Think “African-American” is a safe term?  Think again.  The List scolds us that “not all Black people are from Africa or America.”  And notice I capitalized “Black.”  That’s the acceptable usage.  The lower case, “black,” is unacceptable.  Why?  Don’t ask.  Because we said so.  The Brandeis List also targets (can I say “target?”) abelist words.  Don’t know what “abelist” means?  Don’t feel bad, nobody else does either.  Ableist language contributes to stigmas about and trivializes the experiences of people with physical and mental health conditions.  Clear now?  So don’t say, “crazy,” “insane,” “wild,” or “lame.”  Instead of “walk in,” Brandeis suggests “drop in,” although this seemingly offends the epileptic community.   For this reason, the word “bananas” is also out.  It not only offends the insane community, which comprises nearly all of the Left, but also has ugly racial overtones.  When bananas go bad they turn black.  This associates blackness with spoliation and decay, which is offensive.  Then again, if you use “black” and not “Black” maybe it just refers to the, you should pardon the expression, “fruit” and not the race.  That was a close one.  “Committed suicide” is out as it implies judgment about suicidality, and offends the suicidal community.  I’d say, “Kill me now!” but alas, that’s also on the naughty List.  The List also disapproves of “language that doesn’t say what we mean.”  Which raises the question, how the Hell do they know what we mean?  You shouldn’t say, “Everything going on right now.”  You should name specifically what you’re referring to, like “police brutality.”  I agree with that idea.  How’s this, “the Brandeis List is unconstitutional bullshit.”  Much better. In fact I’ve formulated my own language suggestions.  “College President” is misleading, as it denotes one in charge of imparting knowledge to students by encouraging a free and open exchange of ideas and opinions.  A better alternative, “Sniveling Weakling” as in, one who lives in fear of uttering the wrong word, thus provoking the little bastards in his charge to call for his head.   I would replace “Stupid” with “paying Brandeis University $75,000 a year to  warp your kid’s mind.”  “Activist” – “Irritant.”  “Celebrity” – “Ignoramus.”  “Progressive” – “Miserable.”  “Kaepernick” – “Who?” I close with one more quote from Justice Brandeis, “The greatest dangers to liberty lurk in the insidious encroachment by men of zeal, well meaning but without understanding.”  Sadly, his namesake university disapproves of this statement.  You can’t say “men.”
