We’ve lived through so many government scandals that you’d think these political A-holes would have figured out by now how to stay out of trouble when they do something wrong, but they never learn.  Invariably, a small fault erupts into a major scandal, and we’re reminded that, “It’s not the crime, it’s the coverup.”  Watergate is the best example.  The June 1972 break in at the Democrat National Committee offices really was “a third rate burglary.”  Nixon’s Reelection Committee allowed maniacs like Gordon Liddy to do a variety of totally improper, stupid, and wholly unnecessary things, with the help of a retired CIA agent and Cuban mercenaries.  Had Nixon fired everybody involved immediately, it would have been embarrassing, and he still would have been reelected.  Instead, Nixon protected people around him who had done him damage, and participated in discussions of such things as hush money payments.  You know the rest.  It was front page news for 2 years, because the media always hated Nixon and welcomed any opportunity to do him in.  This month, we’ve passed the seventh anniversary of the biggest, and most dangerous political scandal in American history, and most media outlets refuse to so much as take notice of it.  In June 2015, Donald Trump came down the escalator at Trump Tower and announced he was running for president.  His announcement was greeted with scorn and laughter.  President Donald Trump?  Ridiculous!  Media outlets gave Trump lots of coverage, and just kept laughing, until it became apparent that Trump had a chance to win.  That couldn’t be permitted.  Trump was an outsider who rejected political business as usual as practiced by both Parties.  Trump made the usual political promises, the difference being that he actually intended to do what he promised.  He wanted to lower taxes, stop runaway government spending, bar politicians and their staffs from becoming lobbyists, cut 20% of the federal bureaucracy, revamp trade policies, curb the excesses of the intelligence agencies, reduce regulations, and perhaps most egregious of all, end pointless wars.  Those things couldn’t be tolerated by crooked politicians on both sides who live to tax, regulate, rake in lobby money, and who have sold themselves to defense contractors.  As a  result, even before Trump won, government entities had decided that he must be stopped at all costs.  Now, Hillary Clinton, who really was taking millions from Russians funding her Foundation, and whose campaign manager and his brother (the Podestas) really were being paid by Russian bankers, got a phony dossier from Russian intelligence sources that accused Trump of Russian collusion.  The Obama Justice Department used the dossier to begin investigating Trump in July 2016, although agents now admit they knew at the time it was false information.  They used this false information to get FISA warrants to spy on the Trump campaign, something that never had been done to a presidential candidate.  They tapped Trump’s phones, and those of his staffers.  When Trump complained, the lapdog media, coconspirators in the scheme, scoffed, and every step of the way claimed there was “no evidence” of such a thing.  Remember those words.  They’ll be back.  After Trump’s election, the FBI’s James Comey went to the White House, and treated Trump as a criminal target, filing an investigation report of the meeting.  The Justice Department secretly investigated it’s boss, the president.  Anyone remember Rod Rosenstein entertaining suggestions that he go to a meeting with the president wired to record the conversation?  There followed 5 Congressional investigations of Trump, a bogus special prosecutor, and the 2 year Mueller investigation, all of which revealed no evidence of Trump wrongdoing, because there never was any.  People around Trump, including family members, were subpoenaed, forced into hours of pointless testimony and millions of dollars of legal fees, hounded, and even prosecuted.  Bureaucratic moles leaked Trump’s confidential conversations with world leaders, and executive branch employees avoided and frustrated the orders of the chief executive.  Then Congress impeached Trump twice, Democrats enlisted Corrupt Demented Imbecile Joe Biden, and they ousted Trump, with the help of pandemic-inspired electoral hanky-panky.  Getting rid of Trump was Part A of the scandal.  Part B began with the choice of Biden to replace Trump, and the efforts to keep Trump from being reelected.  The media first had to pretend Joe Biden wasn’t a senile nincompoop in 2020.  Then, the narrow Republican victory in the House of Representatives in 2022 necessitated more more extensive coverups.  The evidence that Joe Biden and family are crooks was blatant in the Fall of 2020.  The FBI convinced social media companies to erase all mention of Hunter’s laptop, which contains documentary and photographic proof of his crimes, including soliciting bribes from foreign entities, and laundering the money through a series of shell corporations to fund Biden family expenses.  Hunter’s business partners have admitted the crimes.  Emails and bank records prove the crimes.  Hell, there’s even a video of Joe Biden bragging about how, as vice-president, he forced the government of Ukraine to fire the prosecutor investigating his son’s misconduct by threatening to withhold U.S. loan guarantees.  But, every time Biden criminality comes up, we’re told “there’s no evidence,” or “it’s unproven.”  Now, this by itself wouldn’t be shocking because politicians routinely get a license to steal in Washington, but the media disinterest, the Justice Department’s slow-walking of investigations, and outright refusals to provide documents must be judged against the backdrop of a so-called justice system that is being wielded by Democrats to repeatedly indict Trump for de minimus nonsense, and things that aren’t crimes in the first place.  They have to engineer a 2024 election in which the Democrat (it won’t be Grandpa Simpson Biden) runs against four time indicted, and perhaps already convicted felon Donald Trump.  But why all the fuss?  They say the fish stinks from the head.  Well here’s the head.

         That’s right.  In 2016 government officials took what they knew was false information from a political candidate, used it to smear her opponent before the election, and to topple his administration after the election.  This is called a coup de etat.  In so doing, they lied, they perverted and tainted the judiciary, they defied the chief executive, they ignored legitimate Congressional inquiries, they made a mockery of the First Amendment by telling private companies what should and shouldn’t be heard and seen, while all the time violating myriad laws in the process.  Their crimes are now impossible to to hide, and should Trump somehow be reelected they will have nowhere to hide.  Hence, the continuing coverup, now in its seventh big year.  The coconspirators include elected officials, bureaucrats, so-called law enforcement officers, a veritable rogues gallery of once respected so-called intelligence officials, and of course, the media whores who swear to every lie, hide the truth, deny the truth, and attempt to destroy any who dare dissent.  Each and every one of these bastards is willing to destroy what was once the freest, and most well respected nation on Earth, and replace it with Soviet-style justice, just to save their own sorry asses.  Donald Trump is far from perfect, but it’s not about him anymore.  If these bastards get away with this, the Constitution is just a joke, and Banana Republic corruption will become the norm.

Josef Stalin famously said, “A single death is a tragedy, a million deaths are only a statistic.”  The accuracy of that statement was driven home earlier this month with the death of Robert DeNiro’s 19 year old grandson, Leandro Rodriguez, who was found dead in his New York City apartment, of an apparent drug, or drugs, overdose.  Now, just to keep the record straight, on these pages I have made no secret of the fact that I do not like Robert DeNiro.  I have described him as an under-educated, overpaid, foul-mouthed cafone, and that opinion hasn’t changed.  I have no use for him or for his politics, but this is different.  I have seen posts on Facebook that almost have taken delight in the death of his grandson, suggesting that DeNiro got what he deserved, and I think these posts are appalling.  Nobody “deserves” to lose a grandson, and no 19 year old “deserves” to die.  But that being said, the death of 19 year old Leandro shouldn’t have come as a surprise.  He had a bad multi-drug habit, that his family had to know about.  Shortly after his death, Leandro’s mother said he had bought fentanyl-laced pills.  He was found in his apartment, next to a quantity of white powder and various items of drug paraphernalia.  Postmortem toxicology revealed cocaine, fentanyl and benzodiazepines in his system. Clearly, Leandro had a bad problem.  Because his grandfather is a celebrity, Leandro’s tragic death was front-page news.  That’s not usually the case in New York.  Nearly 3,000 people die from drug overdoses in New York City every year, more than 7 per day.  The leading cause of death the past 6 years is fentanyl.  The majority of the victims are black,  and most of the deaths occur in the Bronx.  These thousands of drug overdose victims don’t get their names on the front page of the newspaper, and little notice of them is taken by elected officials and law enforcement.  But, as Stalin said, one death is a tragedy, and the death of someone connected to a celebrity calls for immediate action, and into action the authorities went.  Within days, police, aided by the DEA and Homeland Security no less, had arrested Sophia Haley Marks who was well known to law enforcement as the “Percocet Princess.”  According to a police source, Marks is notorious for selling pills to under-aged buyers, as young as 15.  Police found text messages on Leandro’s phone between him and Marks, who apparently is a drug dealer with a conscience.  She sold him counterfeit oxycodone (percocet) and xanax for $105, but warned Leandro, “Do you r[eal]ly need them … I [don’t] wanna kill u,” later adding, “I j[ust] don’t like serving u them cuz they not script,” and cautioning,“don’t go overboard with these.”  Of course, telling a drug addict not to go overboard is like telling a lion to go vegetarian.  Although Marks was a notorious drug dealer, I guess she wasn’t a priority for law enforcement.  The death of a celebrity’s relative changed that.  And the Feds had to get in the act, because in Manhattan, drug dealers are just released without bail after arrest.  Marks obligingly sold 50 fentanyl-laced percocets to the DEA, warning the undercover agent, “please be careful with these … don’t do more than one at a time … my friend just died.”  In New Jersey, and many other States, that admission would be tantamount to a confession to drug-induced homicide, but New York has no drug-induced homicide law.  The federal charges, however, expose Marks to a sentence of up to 40 years, undoubtedly far more time than she would get from Alvin Bragg in Manhattan.  As they say, it’s not what you know, it’s who you know, so it’s not surprising that the DeNiro family got a quicker law enforcement response than most.  The real question, however, is what, if anything, will be learned from the tragedy of Leandro’s death.  Maybe it’s time that we, as a society, reexamined drug addiction in general, and the prevalence of fentanyl in particular.  As kin to a celebrity, we know Leandro’s name.  But what about the thousands of dead young people throughout the land who have been killed by fentanyl.  We lost 58,000 people in Vietnam over 10 years, and built a monument.  Fentanyl kills nearly 100,000 nameless, faceless young people every year, and they’re ignored.  Although too much fentanyl killed them, most of these victims didn’t overdose on fentanyl, because they never knew what they were taking contained fentanyl, which is added to a variety of illicit drugs.  On this point, at least Leandro had a chance.  He was warned the pills he was buying were counterfeit and could kill him.  In the end, no warning could overcome his addiction.  The nameless, faceless others get no such warning.  And what is our society doing about a threat that kills 100,000 Americans a year?  Nearly nothing.  Although we know the fentanyl is being shipped in from Mexico, after having been manufactured by Chinese chemists, using Chinese ingredients, we’re not going after the Mexican cartels, and of course, Corrupt Demented Imbecile Joe Biden can’t complain to his Chinese masters.  After all, business is business, right Hunter?  And we’re admitting millions of illegal aliens, to include fentanyl smugglers, and Mexican cartel members, who are expanding their businesses North of the border.  On top of this, we have Woke cities, including New York, that are enabling and encouraging illegal drug use, and drug legalization.  In the early 1980’s, serious people argued that cocaine wasn’t dangerous, and should be legalized.  Then Len Bias died of an overdose, sanity returned, and the legalization talk decreased.  But today there are no guide rails.  Idiots are still touting legalization, and governments are aiding and abetting illegal drug use, in some places setting up stations where government employees will actually inject the drugs into the addict.  They supply needles and crack pipes, free of charge, and are handing out Narcan, to revive comatose victims.  They call this compassion.  I call it suicide by government.  And it’s shameful.  Leandro’s mother rightly blames the drug dealer for her son’s death, but there’s more blame to go around. Government, on all levels needs to declare the fentanyl problem an intolerable threat to America, and do something to interdict the supply, while at the same time working with addicts to reduce demand.  Maybe if celebrities demanded action, the government would do something.  Leftists like Robert DeNiro like to call things “existential threats.”  Well here’s a real existential threat.  100,000 annual deaths isn’t only a statistic.  The actors are on strike now, so maybe they could use this down time to at least act like they care.  Will the actors act?  Not likely.

You ever notice that Democrats are constantly railing against imagined or non-existent problems that they label as “existential threats?”  On June 25th, Wall Street Journal editorial page writer Barton Swaim made an excellent review of this issue in his article, The American Left’s Fantastic Threats.  The Left is in the habit of championing straw men, who are the supposed victims of imagined problems, and of taking pride in solving problems that no longer exist.  Case in point, congratulating itself for an anti-lynching law in 2022, when no one has been lynched in 60 years.  You really can’t blame them.  Because the Left is morally bankrupt and has neither the will nor the know how to solve real problems, the creation of fantastical threats is really all they’ve got.  The things that spew from the mouth of Corrupt Demented Imbecile Joe Biden are a perfect example.  Whatever handler has his or her hand up the back of our Ventriloquist’s Dummy in Chief, provides him with a steady stream of false claptrap, designed to rally the Left by warning voters of threats that either never existed or no longer exist.  Mr. Swaim’s review of a handful of Democrat talking points readily exposes their duplicity, and reinforces the truth that it is the Left that is doing many of the very things it denounces.  The examples he cites are present in every Biden speech.  In a world of ruinous inflation, impending recession, unchecked crime in the streets, the invasion of millions of illegal aliens, and an increasingly impotent military faced with Chinese Communists looking to take over the world, Biden tells us that the greatest threat we face is from white supremecists.  There are some twisted kooks out there, no doubt.  But the greatest threat?  If that was true, where are the raids,  arrests and prosecutions?  The white supremecist scare is an outgrowth of the equally false systemic racism meme.  There once was de jure (systemic) racism, but not anymore.  If this threat was real, wouldn’t Il Duce Barack Obama have ended it?  The Left has an answer which is equally ludicrous.  “There’s implicit bias, you see, so even though it’s against the law, universally rejected by society, and can’t be seen, it’s still there.”  Like much of the Democrat playbook, this is Orwellian.  George Orwell observed that, “There are some ideas so absurd that only an intellectual could believe them, because no ordinary man could be such a fool.” Likewise, the Democrat claim that Republicans “are banning books” is another Leftist fantasy.  Less then 1% of America’s thousands of libraries have received complaints about books.  And the complaints focus on the provision of sexually explicit books to children.  Banned books are available to no one.  Republicans aren’t banning books, they’re protecting children from perverts, and that’s precisely what the Left objects to.  Never forget, these are the same people who changed the term “pedophile” to “minor attracted person,” the same people who are subjecting children to Drag Queen story hours and shows, and the same people supporting gender changing surgeries for kids.  Yet another Leftist fallacy is “MAGA extremists want to tell people who they can love.”  The Supreme Court settled the same sex marriage question in 2015.  No Republican is trying to outlaw same sex marriages.  The notion of voter suppression is just one more Leftist hallucination, which is totally false, but stirs up the Woke base.  Remember Joe Biden’s denunciation of the Georgia election law amendments as “Jim Crow 2.0?”  After passage of the law, which Biden claimed would keep minorities from voting, more black voters voted in Georgia than before the amendment, and no black voter complained of a poor voting experience.  So it’s not Jim Crow 2.0, it’s Democrat Bullshit 2023.  Of course, Leftist fantasized threats balloon to extraordinary levels when applied to that “existential threat to our democracy” one Donald John Trump.  They told us Trump was a fascist, in league with Russia, and bent on installing an authoritarian government.  Democrats still believe this crap, despite the fact that the definition of fascism (everything inside the State, nothing outside the State, and nothing against the State) could be the Democrat Party motto.  They still believe it even though a recently declassified FBI memo from 2017 has proven that the FBI knew it was all a hoax, perpetrated by Hillary Clinton, before embarking on the 2 year Mueller Investigation.  And, of course, they still believe it although it is Democrats who seek to “fundamentally transform” America into a socialist autocracy.  Who’s banning books from the likes of J.K. Rowling?  Democrats.  Who’s hard at work stifling free speech on campus?  Democrats.  And who’s constantly trying to impose government censorship of free speech in public and on the internet?  Once again, Democrats.  Mr. Swaim is right.  The Left’s chief problem is that the things that formerly were liberal goals have all been met.  Despite this fact, however, Democrats continue to pretend that it’s still 1933, and that none of the social welfare programs exist.  Leftists now search in vain for some new cause.  The latest flavor of the month is transgender politics, along with the obligatory imagined threat to the safety of transgender people.  In truth, the trans community is very small, and no real threat to these people exists.  You’re male and want to pretend to be female?  Go for it.  You’re female, and want to pretend you’re male”  Who cares?  If you want to identify as a goat, I couldn’t care less, just don’t eat my wife’s flowers. The reality is that the Left ignores the real and very pressing problems that do exist, and concentrates on non-existent problems, because they have no solutions for real problems.  The Left won’t deal with the truth because, as Jack Nicholson once said, they “can’t handle the truth.”  The Leftist fixation on imaginary threats brought to mind a quote from RFK, “Some men see things as they are and say ‘why’?  I dream things that never were and say, ‘why not’?”  For today’s Democrat Party that would be, “Some Parties recognize problems that are real.  We focus on problems that no longer are or never were and say, ‘Who knows, maybe they’ll buy our bullshit one more time.'”

When I was young and naive, I assumed that the passage of time would result in a more civilized society here and around the world.  On some level, that made sense  One looked back into history and beheld millennia of brutal dictatorship, grinding poverty, cruel slavery, destructive wars, and above all, near universal illiteracy.  Surely, or so I foolishly thought, as the centuries sped by, the condition of Man would improve until we finally reached that shining city on a hill we’ve heard so much about.  In Ronald Reagan’s famous speech, he saw America as the city, a shining example of stability, prosperity, and freedom.  Although “shining city on a hill” is often associated with Ronald Reagan, he was far from the first to use that phrase.  The concept can be traced to the Sermon on the Mount.  But I digress.  I was horribly wrong.  Man is not moving toward greater civility and stability.  If anything, he’s running full tilt in the other direction.  The reason isn’t a mystery.  Although the average Man in the street, the woods, the village, or wherever would be perfectly happy just to have peace, some personal security, and a full stomach, and although today’s society is perfectly capable of supplying all those things to every person on this Earth, it isn’t going to happen because somebody has to be in charge, and once in charge, the leaders invariably become power-hungry, money-hungry pricks, who gleefully abuse, starve or kill their people if it puts another dollar in their Swiss bank accounts.  Think that’s too cynical?  In his Devil’s Dictionary, Ambrose Bierce defined a cynic as, “a blackguard whose faulty vision sees things as they are, not as they ought to be.”  Politicians may talk a lot about their dedication to “the people” or to “democracy,” but they’re really just out for themselves.  Again, Bierce had it right, when he defined politics as “a strife of interests masquerading as a contest of principles.”  Think about it.  We’re still hearing about world hunger.  But for the greedy pricks who run the impoverished areas of the world, and the crazy Woke bastards who are running the so-called developed areas of the world, it wouldn’t have to be that way.  There are enough energy sources, food sources and modern farming and food processing techniques to ensure that no one goes hungry.  People are still starving though, for two reasons.  First, the food, money for food, medicine and other supplies sent to the Third World is stolen by the crooks running those countries, and the people be damned. Haiti’s a perfect example.  Tens of billions of dollars was sent there after the 2010 earthquake.  All the money went in, and life in Haiti now is worse than it was in the aftermath of the earthquake. (for more on Haiti, see Frank on Friday, January 18, 2018).  The second reason that hunger persists is the fault of the Woke imbeciles in the developed world.  Maybe it’s because the developed world became too prosperous.  Maybe we just had things too good.  I don’t know, but the Woke kooks in the so-called First World seem determined to destroy civilization.  The First World succeeded because of industry.  The industries themselves, and the personal industry of people who worked hard to better themselves.  The Wokesters  oppose industry, and would have humanity back in caves if they had their way.  The First World societies were orderly because the governments enforced laws to protect people and property.  That’s what separated us from the so-called Third World, but due to Progressivism, we’re regressing.  Wokesters are opposed to law enforcement.  Although we could feed the world, progressives won’t allow it.  They insist on outlawing oil and gas.  No energy, no industry.  No industry, no jobs.  No jobs, no food.  They won’t permit us to produce more food to give the hungry either.  Farmers in California could feed the world, but progressives won’t allow them to use the water they need to grow the food.  They pump potable water into the ocean to protect an endangered fish.  Damn the fish!  People are endangered you stupid bastards!  They don’t care.  They know better.  These are the same caring people who outlawed the use of DDT, an insecticide that had been used in the Third World to control mosquitos.  Without DDT, millions in Africa died of malaria.  Too bad, but it was for their own good.  Progressives have spoken.  Besides, there are more important issues.  The Woke are spending all their time worrying whether they used the proper pronouns to refer to the latest addition to the LGBTQ-whatever crowd.  They’re too busy permitting marauders to steal and kill without legal consequences, as a way to atone for past abuses for which they were in no way responsible, and which will in no way remedy past wrongs.  They oppose guns, but they won’t lift a finger to remove them from the hands of inner city teenagers who murder 10,000 people a year.  They’re too busy teaching children to hate their country, and even to hate their own genders, while denying them the ability to think for themselves.  And, of course, they are much too busy trying to convince what’s left of society to legalize, and even to encourage the use of dangerous drugs.  They oppose cigarettes, but they embrace marijuana smoking, which poses a greater danger to the lungs, not to mention the brain, than Joe Camel ever did.  Now, they’re even supporting legalization of psychedelic drugs.  Clearly, they favor a population that is ignorant, stoned, and perfectly compliant.  They are giving us the world that both George Orwell and Aldous Huxley warned us about so long ago.  They practice Orwellian double-speak.  They warn of misinformation while misinforming us.  They proclaim “no one is above the law” while they flaunt the law, and permit others to do so.  Females are male.  Males are female.  Just yesterday, I swear to God, the CDC issued a directive warning that a drug used by biological males who have turned female, which permits them to lactate, may produce milk that’s not safe for babies.  It’s truly madness.  And they’re ushering in Aldous Huxley’s Brave New World, by relying on AI technology instead of human experience, and by promoting a docile, tranquilized population.  A population which has but one duty.  To return the same crooked pricks to power election after election.  It’s not a Brave New World.  It’s a Depraved New World, and I , for one, want no part of it.

Like many Americans, I’m not looking forward to a rematch of the 2020 presidential election.  Corrupt Demented Imbecile Joe Biden is a criminal who is mentally null and void.  And Donald Trump, as I’ve said before, did wonderful things as president, and no doubt would continue his good works if reelected, but the Establishment has forever ruined him as a viable candidate.   A large majority of the electorate would prefer neither Biden nor Trump as the choices in 2024.  I’m not sure what it would take to convince Trump not to run, but the other side of that equation seems to be coming together with increased reporting of evidence of the corruption of the Biden Crime Family.  As the damning evidence continued to leak out these past few weeks, and as stories about the Bidens taking bribes were reported, even on CNN, it seems that even the Left is coming to the conclusion that it has to retire Joe Biden if it hopes to win in 2024.  The main events this week were testimony before a Congressional committee from two IRS whistleblowers who documented illegal interference in the Hunter Biden investigation, and the announcement that Hunter would plead guilty to two misdemeanor tax charges and an unlawful gun possession charge (more about the pleas later).  For all the harping by Democrats about the Republican investigations being groundless, and in spite of Joe Biden’s claim that allegations of his involvement are “malarkey,” I was reminded of the words of John Donne, “Never send to know for whom the bell tolls, it tolls for thee.”  Or in this case, ask not, Joe, for whom the whistles blow, they blow for thee.  Democrats are attempting to blow off these revelations as being limited only to Hunter Biden, and then only because the poor, benighted Hunter was a drug addict.  Due to this, or so the official bullshit story goes, you can’t really blame Hunter for whatever he did, and Old Joe is just showing his love for his son, as any father would.  Diabetic readers are no doubt reaching for the insulin at this point.  Lying Leftist spin aside, the investigations into Hunter Biden’s criminal activities aren’t focused on him, but rather on his father, Corrupt Demented Joe, a/k/a, The Big Guy.  Hunter’s incriminating laptop computer contains all the evidence needed to convict both Hunter and The Big Guy of multiple felonies.  The Republican Congressional Committees looking into the Bidens aren’t looking to catch Hunter, but the whole Biden Crime Family, which has been in operation for nearly 50 years.  If we didn’t live in a land where elected officials (except for Donald Trump) are above the law, then in the past 50 years, someone might have wondered how Sleepy Joe, who claims he came to the Senate as poor as a church mouse, came to amass enough money to buy several luxury properties in Delaware.  The fact that the Bidens achieved great wealth has less to do with Horatio Alger, and more to do with Al Capone.  The Bidens made their money the old-fashioned way, they extorted and stole it.  The investigations are looking into Biden corruption and the weaponization of the justice system against anyone who is outside the Establishment, and thus must be stopped.  Donald Trump comes readily to mind.  As John Adams once observed, facts are stubborn things.  When Trump is the target, anything goes.   Paul Manafort was locked in solitary confinement to convince him to rat Trump out, even though to do so would require Manafort to lie.  Meanwhile, when the Feds have Hunter Biden dead to rights, instead of using the leverage to force him to tell the truth, the Justice Department gives him a sweetheart deal.  The Hunter investigation resulted in offers to plead to 2 failure to pay tax misdemeanors and a diversion program for the gun charge.  Possession of a gun by a drug addict can get you 10 years.  Hunter got a pass.  Meanwhile, the same Justice Department is trying to send Donald Trump, a former president, to prison for what amounts to life for possessing documents that presidents are permitted to possess.  Justice indeed.  And what of the so-called Hunter Biden independent counsel investigation?  It turns out it wasn’t really independent.  AG Garland claims that Counsel Weiss had the authority to look into anything and to bring any charges in any jurisdiction, but that turns out to be a lie.  The Feds raided Mar A Lago for classified documents.  Weiss wanted to search Biden’s Delaware house where Hunter lived.  Justice Department AAG Lesley Wolf rejected this plan, citing “bad optics.”  Then, when Weiss sought a search warrant for Hunter’s storage locker, whistleblowers say Wolf called Hunter’s lawyers to warn them of the impending search.  There’s a term for law enforcement agents who tip off criminal targets of the details of an investigation – official misconduct, which is a felony that will put the perpetrator in prison.  Wolf won’t be charged with anything, and Hunter, who evaded taxes of more than $1 million, wasn’t charged with a felony either.  The income involved was from Ukrainian company Burisma, which was paying the Biden Family milli0ns of dollars for God knows what.  And that tax number would have been higher had not the investigators delayed so long that the 2014 and 2015 payments were outside the statute of limitations.  In all, the Bidens took in more than $8 million from Burisma over 6 years.  Hunter, when he did file tax returns,  took as business expenses a $25,000 payment to a girlfriend, disguised as a “golf membership,” as well as a payment for a sex club membership.  That’s not “failure to pay,” it’s tax evasion, which is a felony.   The gun charge against Hunter has a maximum sentence of 10 years.  Hunter got a diversion program for that, meaning, if he stays clean for a time, it will be dismissed.   No criminal record.  You try to get that deal.  The whistleblowers say they wanted more serious charges brought but were overruled.  I wonder why?  There’s actually a message from Hunter shaking down a Chinese business associate for $5 million.  “I am sitting here with my father and we would like to understand why the commitment made has not been fulfilled … And, Z, if I get a call or text from anyone involved in this other than you, Zhang, or the chairman, I will make certain that between the man sitting next to me and every person he knows and my ability to forever hold a grudge that you will regret not following my direction. I am sitting here waiting for the call with my father.”  $5 million was paid later that week.  Investigators wanted to obtain location data to confirm that Old Joe was present at the time, but the Justice Department said “No.”  I wonder why?  This week, Biden had a private lunch with Il Duce Obama.  Very hush, hush.  Maybe Il Duce was telling Joe it’s time to go.  Time will tell.
